3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle, bedankt bierkoning voor de reeks. Well-done, modestly mono-dimensional and true-to-style Black IPA with apparent dryhopping, imparting subtle fresh citrus and herbal hop notes on top & underneath the lighly roasted dark malts. Easy drinking, near-sessionable, supra par of many underbrewed Black IPAs I’ve sampled in US brewpubs.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Haha, what a coincidence, spoke with the brewer some years ago that I was happy that none of his beers gushed. Didn’t buy and drink any beers from this brewery for a while and the first bottle I bought since this while, had this foamy gushing snake... Mwa...
The beer is muddy dark brown in color and has a big and very slow disappearing beige foamy head. When the head disintegrates slowly, it leaves an enormous sticky cover over the glass and a thin lacing on this muddy beer.
Aroma of hops, hay, fresh citrus, fresh exotic fruit, some porridge/oatmeal, soap. Quite crispy aroma.
Flavours of hops, some roast, bitters, porridge, toast, spices, light floral, plant extracts and some light liquorice tints...
Aftertaste is bitter with some herbal spices, floral, roast/toast and some citrus fruit...
Medium carbo, soft spicy mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy light watery texture.
A Dutch BIPA, not bad but nothing worldshockingly either...

Dark brown colour, off-white to beige head. Aroma of citrus, citra, caramel, malts, lots of pineapple. Bitter flavour, hops, roasted malts, pineapple, fruity. Quite dry. Fruity finish, caramel, pineapple, light roasted malts.
Nice. More like a caramel infused IPA, but I do like it!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Cloudy brown color, huge brownish head. Bottles is no gusher, but is building up foam in the bottle. Aroma gives soft grassy hops on a roasty and chocolat malt base. Some yeast and spiciness as well, which reminds me of a certain brewery. Quite spicy bitterness. Finishes chocolate and loads of grassy and spicy bitterness. More malt based, but with a firm bitterness. Lacks good hop aroma, but it’s possible it’s an older bottle. Therefore it smells more like a stout. So, for a black IPA it lacks hop aroma, but for a stout it’s too hopbitter in taste. A bit unbalanced though.
