3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 330 ml as Melbuul’n Bier, from trade with bierkoning, thanks! Poured into a tulip glass, ABV 7%
Deep mahogany colour on the body, clear whenhold against the light. Two fingers of light beige head, thick, with very good retention and thick lacing left on the glass.
Lots of chocolate on the aroma, becoming stonger as the beer warms up a bit, roasted malts, light black olives smell, light grains.
Taste is grainy, lightly acidic, more grainy on the aftertaste but saved by the roasted malts being present as well. On the long finish some coffee and mild bitterness.
Medium body, good carbonation.
Overall quite good dubbel, enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, BB 04-2015, large sample. Clear ruby color, medium brown head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel malt, hint of raisin, hint of roast. Smells very traditional dubbel, with a good balance between spiciness of the yeast and aromatic malts. Bit sweet in taste, quite dry, spicy again. Its actually too spicy for my personal liking, but it fits the style very good and the balance is great. Good beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is of roasted malts and liqourice. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of liqourice, malt and a little yeast on the smooth dry and slightly peppery palate. I like my Dubbels and I liked this one a lot. One for a session for sure.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Brown body with big beige head. Light roasted, some caramel malts and cheese yeast. But not very expressive to be honest. Warming ending, smooth carbonation. Sweet body, light sticky. It?s okay. (Bottle at De Drie Dorstige Herten)

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Bierkoning for trading this one
Brown with rapidly fading beige head. Not much aroma. Taste is some dark fruit, caramel malts, hints of Chocotof. Bit of a boring double. Still drinkable though :)

Bottle. [thanks bierkoning]
Deep chestnut brown with a small, staying, creamy, light-beige head. Aroma has nuts, chocolate, light esters, soft liqourice. Nice. Medium carbonation, fine dry, light grainy and fatmouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, milky chocolate, hazelnuts aplenty, caramel, light grainy. Very nice dubbel.
