Uit de fles met biergilde hoorn. Donker bruin met een mooie volle fijne schuimkraag, licht troebel. In de geur geroosterde mout, zoute drop en salmiak. In de smaak laurier, rookmout, kandij en zoete drop. Mooi romig vol mondgevoel, zeer aangename dubbel!

Bottle, traded with Bierkoning. Very fruity - ripe apples, prunes, also walnuts and a maltiness pending between caramel and chocolate. A peaty phenolic note detected. Medium body, malty taste, light spicy. Good.

33cl bottle Appearance A deep (dark but clear mahogany with a 2 fingers sized light beige head, thick, with a good retention. Leaving a nice amount of thick good lacing. Aroma: chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, nuts, olives , bread and earthy tones and some spicey yeast Taste: Medium sweet and bitter nicely balaced. Tase palae is much more grainy as expected but with some nice roasted biterness and the yeast . Finish is a bitterness wih a light coffe caramel aftertaste which lasts nicely. Oily texture, medium body, average carbonation. Quite suprising and probably the best beer I had from the Berghoeve.

Mooie chocoladebruine kleur met een goede lichtbruine kraag. Ruikt chocolade, iets alcohol, vanille. Smaakt lekker zoet, chocolade, fruit, beetje crème. Iets dikke structuur

0,33 l bottle bought directly at the brewery. Pours dark red brown in the glass, big tanned foamy head. Strong dark berries on the nose, mid toffee. Starts more like cold coffee, followed by a more fuity taste. Low sweetness, hints of marzipan. Later roasty and low bitterness. Easy to drink, not bad, but could have been more complex.

Bottle 330 ml as Melbuul’n Bier, from trade with bierkoning, thanks! Poured into a tulip glass, ABV 7% Deep mahogany colour on the body, clear whenhold against the light. Two fingers of light beige head, thick, with very good retention and thick lacing left on the glass. Lots of chocolate on the aroma, becoming stonger as the beer warms up a bit, roasted malts, light black olives smell, light grains. Taste is grainy, lightly acidic, more grainy on the aftertaste but saved by the roasted malts being present as well. On the long finish some coffee and mild bitterness. Medium body, good carbonation. Overall quite good dubbel, enjoyable.
