2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dunkler, fruchtig malziger Antrunk. Süßer im Mittelteil, karamellig, weiterhin dunkel malzig. Die Karbonisierung ist insgesamt zu stark, was aber die sonst zu starke Süße überdeckt. 9/11/8/10/8/9

Many thanks to Douberd for this Beer!

Thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that bottle. Looks really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts strong-malty, fine spicy, A bit woody-scratchy. Spicy-malty finish, still quite strong. Warming. Nice!

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle at Gouda Winterbier Fest. Murky brown pour, small ring of yellow head. Aroma is worty, vegetal, yeasty, peas, ginger. Taste is malty, wort, boozy notes, light toasty flavors. Full body, medium carbonation. Had this beer on good recommendation, must have been a bad bottle, because this was quite terrible

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, BB 11-2015, large sample. Clear ruby color, big rocky light brown head. Aroma is spicy, clove, nutmeg, hint of anise, some roasted malts, some licorice, hint of coffee, autumn leaves. Quite bitter taste, bit sweet, spicy, bit dry. Im not a big fan of spiced beers, but this one does the trick for the winter season definitely. Great balance, great brew!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0,33 l bottle bought directly at the brewery. New label design. Pours dark redbrown, not-transparent. Small short living beige head. Berriefruits and woody liquorice on the nose. Starts very smooth, a lot of dark fruits. Alcoholic warm. In the middle part malt and spicy, light sour bitterness. Full body. Hints of peppermint and koreander in the late background. A little bit sticky at the end but a very good one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark amber with a frothy off white head and some broken lace. The aroma is sweet raisins, caramel and the yeast is not far away. The flavour is sweet with a bitter liqourice palate and a short bitter finish. I liked this a lot, but the use of local yeast does not give an authentic brew, which should be a little smoother. Nevertheless, this is a beer that I would buy over and over again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl Bottle from the Rooie Dop brewdungeon. Deep ruby-amber colour, light-beige head. Aroma is very malty sweet, caramel, not unlike e.g. Paulaner Salvator, forest fruits, red berries. Flavour is quite sweet, malty, caramel, lots of red berries and forest fruits, Christmas cake, nice bitter finish with some juniper. Medium-bodied, rich in flavour. Nice, but really a dessert beer.

Bottle at home. Hazy amber to brown pout, huge light brown head. Aroma is full of red fruits, spicy, roasty, some licorice and woody. Flavor is very sweet, fruity, bitter finish and with a huge body. Massive brew and very well balanced. Lovely.

33cl bottle, bedankt bierkoning. - Had to top this in mirrsummer due to the bottle not being wholly airtight after transport. Aromatic nose of ripe red berries, caramel, currants and cardamon & cinnamon. Glad to learn juniper berries were added to give this an authentic Dutch jenever touch, sparing you the kopstoot of sinking one in your glass. Pretty fresh, subtle, due to a refined yeast strain comparatively easy drinking for a spiced sugar bomb in summer, esp. compared to some far stickier Wallonian Scotches.
