COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introduced in October of 1989, the bock style far exceeded original expectations. This micro-styled bock beer has a rich and full-bodied flavor while being creamy on the palate. The nose yields a fresh, malty aroma with a hint of caramel sweetness. Hop bitterness and aftertaste balance the sweetness and maltiness. Berghoff Bock is made with Brewer's Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Caramel Malt, Black Malt and domestic hops.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear dark brew that glowers a deep red when held up to a light. Small head that quickly fades. Aroma of caramel, roadted grain, dark fruit, molassas. Taste is sweet malts with a bit of roast, dark fruit, modest hoppiness blending with the sweet tasts at the finish. Average palate. Good stuff.

BeerInHeaven (23) - Brillion, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 16, 2011
pours a rich brown, about the same color as the bottle. tan head fades quickly but lingers on the sides of the glass. The aroma is a little nutty and burnt. Tastes the same as it smells. A little bit syrupy, but hey, that’s bock. An average bock at a good price.

Bottle. Poured a dark brownish color with a small tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, nuts, and caramel. Flavor was nutty, with caramel and chocolate. Medium body, higher carbonation. A lot better than I thought it would be. Highly drinkable. Kind of thin.

Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUN 16, 2010
(Bottle, Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Labeled Berghoff Traditional Bock) Dark brown colour with hints of red, frothy beige head. Malty nose with dark bread, dried fruit, raisins and caramel. Malty taste with notes of dark bread, ryvita, caramel, cola, a touch of dried fruit and a spicy finish with moderate bitterness. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. A certain malt sweetness shines through. A decent and drinkable dark lager, not really exciting though.

monkeychugg55 (704) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Pours a dark brown with reddish highlights and a decent white head. The aroma has caramel, bread, and nuts, with a hint of hops. The flavor sweet, with caramel and grassy hops on the finish. Medium bodied at best, with soft carbonation. Not a whole lot to this beer, but not bad I suppose.

fidelis83 (1348) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAY 4, 2010
Pours a medium copper-brown with a 1 finger beige head that has o.k. retention. Aroma is dark caramel, crusty white bread, sweet cereal grainhints of grass and planty malts. Flavor is dusty sweet tea, toasty grain, light caramel, herbal hops, and a light fruitiness. Some tree fruit and metallic notes come in toward the finish. Palate is light bodied with a moderate, but pretty shap carbonation and dry feel. Meh.
