Definitely Berghoff's best brew. Nice bitterness although this really isn't a beer for the "hop head".

Hmm. Do I really get to complain when I find this in an airport. I had it once before in the same and thought about the same. Not BAD bad, just something odd in the finish. Fair balance, but the malt and hop combo are distinctly middle of the road.

A fine beverage especially as a beverage during dinner. It has a unique woodiness aftertaste that is pleasently interesting.

Just a slight cut above Budmilloors, in the Huber tradition. Malty with a mild bitterness, but it really tastes like there are some unpleasant adjuncts in there. Goes well with the restaurant’s wurst plate, though.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 howie (549) - DeForest, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 20, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2005 Faintly reminiscent of an an English pale. Cheap, which helps.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MaxPower (961) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 14, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2005 12 oz bottle pours a clear amber with a small off white head that doesn’t last long, not much lacing either. Fruity and flowery aromas, bready caramel flavors, medium bodied with a kind of watery mouthfeel, finishes with a mild sweetness, not a bad beer for the price.

I love the stuff, great balance and always makes me happy!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 hennes (932) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - FEB 20, 2002
This may be the most average beer I’ve ever had. Or is that a contradiction in terms, most average? In any event, this beer has a fair body of malts and some hop presence, but its bascially bland, average fare.

Pretty decent beer

Not brilliant, but so much more than expected that it deserves praise. Movement is good and has a nuance that belies its $4.99 price tag. Berghoff is the best of the cheap American breweries, for sure.
