fiulijn (5900), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Nov 30, 2007 Draught at Berhgoff Cafe, O’Hare Airport, as Berghoff Amber Amber color. Light aroma. Some malt flavor, a bit sweet, soap smell in the glass. Unassertive. hopdog (4659), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 30, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade. Poured a medium and clear orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Muted aromas of grain and some caramel. Tastes of caramel, grain and citrus. Both the aromas and tastes on the weak side (like the body). BückDich (4559), Boise, Idaho, USA Dec 12, 2006 Bottle: Bronze, reddish, light head and lacing. Sweet melon and fruit rind, hop essence. Koji? Certain buttery notes and a malty nose. The flavor is a bit dusty and musky, even manuery. Finishes a bit too sweet and bland. Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 20, 2005 Copper colored with little of any head, this had a somewhat stale malty aroma with merely a hint of hopping. Thin in the mouth, it was fairly thin in flavor as well, some burnt caramel with an unappealing bitter finish. Just what does The Berghoff have to take pride in anymore - these blase "famous" brews that they contract out to Huber? JPDIPSO (4290), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 15, 2003 Clear copper color with a big bubbled cream colored head. Light toffee with hint of DMS in the aroma. Mild flavors of dry caramel with dry nutty finish. To me this is another (ASA) American Standard Amber.
