famous what yes it beats any of the macros picked up at woodmans 12 oz, bottle poured copper with reddish hue with small to no head. aromas of malts and light hops overall not a bad brew but woudn’t go out of my way

Jun 8, 2008 Pours orange with a hint of read with a finger of rapidly dissipating stark white head. Caramel notes in the odor. A very light mouthful (as with just about every berghoff beer), with taste thats starts off with a hint of caramel and spice, and ends with some slight hop bitterness. Better than some of the other Berghoff fair.

Jun 4, 2008 A nice looking ale, a very noticeable grassy aroma, and biscuits. The mouthfeel is very light and it finishes very smoothly. A decent beer, but not sure why its so famous.

May 28, 2008 Pours copperish in color with an off white head. Low levels of caramel malt and hops are present in the aroma. Flavor has some spice and caramel malt notes with hops in the background.

May 21, 2008 Draft at Berghoff Cafe at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. Labeled Berghoff Famous Amber Ale. Light caramel aroma. Amber color with a bit of off-white head. Medium body with coarsely creamy carbonation. Flavor is caramel with some nice floral? hop. Almost crisp and definitely refreshing.

Apr 26, 2008 Looks like apple cider with large frothy quickly dissipating head. Aroma of citrus, bread and mild floral notes. Tastes of apples and bland hops that finishes mildly bitter and taste like cardboard. A little flat and not a good example of an APA.
