Golden in color, with a moderately full body, Berghoff is a well-rounded beer. The aroma is faintly fruity, with a quick, clean finish, and lightly lingering bitterness. Berghoff Lager is made with Brewer’s Two-Row Malt, Carapils Malt, Caramel Malt and domestic hops.

About as average as it gets; used to think Berghoff, Leinies, Augsburger (what happened to them?) were great-for-the-price choices; now I’d rather put the money into something more permanent if all I could afford was this crap. Kind of sweet, no hops to speak of, somewhat nasty stale corn aftertaste; pretty amber color, no head to speak of. Next!

355ml bottle pours a pale golden color with a small white head and leaves virtually no lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild cereal grains and grassy hops. Taste is malty sweet with some fruity notes and a mild grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium body with light carbonation. A typical macro lager.

Pours a clear golden hue, with a thin white head. Aroma is grain and cereal. Slightly fruity, and grainy flavor with a metalic, coppery after taste. Light to medium body. Good for the price, but not a mind blower by any means

"Berghoff Prairie Lager" Bottle pours hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is grainy and tart with notes of cereal, apple, and honey. Flavor is pretty basic with grassy hops and sweet malt dominating. Overall body is light to moderate and the finish is lightly bitter.

@ORD. Golden and bright with a gentle sparkle and a thin head. Lightly malty and vaguely appley aroma. Moderately malty palate - almost all pale malts. There is a noticeable light bitterness around 20IBUs, but not really any hop character besides that. Good for what it is.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

12oz bottle from Woodman’s poured into a Shaker. Labeled as "Prairie Lager Beer". Pours a pale yellow with a small bit of fizzy white head. Smells lightly of hops and a decent amount of rotting barnyard skunk. Taste is lightly sweet and lightly sour on the aftertaste. Actually has a decent, if very light, hop flavor. I think this one may be the best of any from the Berghoff family I’ve had yet. It doesn’t have that artificial sugar taste the other ones have. Medium bodied with a sticky and oily texture. Lively carbonation and not much to speak of in way of finish. Overall, its not too bad. Nothing I would buy again but I’ll at least finish this one off.
