Medium clean amber with a small white head. Aroma is light malts, caramel, and sweet hops. Flavor was candied malts, light hops. Has a sweet dry bitterness in the finish. Overall pretty decent.

Pours golden orange with a foamy white head. Aroma is slightly skunked, mild hop pepper below the honey sweet base. Flavor begins sweet, cardboard malt toast notes give way to some citric fruit (lemon rinds), followed by a seemingly artificial bitterness which is not very pleasant.

Goldish orange with nice tight creamy white head. Aroma is malty with a sour malt presence, sweetness, and a sense that it is fairly full. Flavor is tangy and sharp, but at the same time a bith thin and unclean. Malt flavor is not very smooth It’s drinkable but could use more character.

hazy light copper color with rocky head and good lacing. Taste is sweet caramel malt with light bittering in the finish. Not complicated, not filling, and easy to drink. Good for the off day when you just want a beer or two.

I give this a lower rating than other Berghoff brews simply becuase the style is one of my favorites and there are MUCH better examples readily available. I buy it when Sierra Nevada, Summit, or Bass aren’t on sale.

My first beer from my trade with John Aka JPDIPSO. Berghoff packaging is a little different for this beer in my area. I like this labelling better makes it look like a quality beer. Very tasty, nice hops good malt and a classic APA flavor. While its not an elite Pale Ale its very nice. At 4.50 a six in KC if the budget gets tight this is a fine thirst quencher. Its probably not going to make anybody’s top 10 but its a good effort and is not a skunky beer.

pours copper with a two finger light tan fluffy head. aroma is malt and hops with some pine and a touch of citrus. has a light to medium body with descent lacing and good carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma. has a small dry hop aftertaste and the pine sticks to the tongue for a little while. its a descent pale.

Deep tan colored with a minimal head. Strong bitter hops aroma. Taste is a lot of hoppy bitterness with little malt finish. All in all, not bad. A little too hoppy for my tastes but then this isn’t my favorite style.

Bottle. Sweet orange and malt aroma. No hops detectable in the aroma. Light amber with a moderate off white head, decent lacing. Light malt and vegetal flavor. No discernible hops flavor. Reminds me more of some Märzens I’ve had.

Pours a nice copper color with a nice off white head. A grainey hops aroma with caramel notes in there as well. Flavor matches the aroma, but with a slightly odd bitter flavor in there. Average brew.
