COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Berghoff Pale Ale is created in the classic American style. It is light copper-colored and medium bodied with a light maltiness. High quality American hops are used to produce this high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, a must have for true hop aficionados!!! Berghoff Pale Ale is made with Brewer's 2-row Malt, Carapils Malt and domestsic hops.

Had higher hops for this. Golden color typical of style, but way too malty, and very little hops, at least compared to their own description. Unimpressed.

Bottle. Clear amber body. Minimal white head. Moderate aroma of toasted grain and caramel with some notes of flowers and sweat. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately bitter, lightly sweet and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Off-taste of lighter fluid that turns soapy. Little hop presence.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear medium gold color. Head was thin, white, and rapidly reduced into a thin film. Lacing was decent. Ahhh, there’s that familiar unpleasant fruity Berghoff aroma of cherry and grape that seems to haunt nearly all of their beers. There is a bit of malty caramel mixed in there too. Dry and bitter on the tongue. Flavor is dominated by astringent grassy hops. Not good.

My god, never have I tasted something so undeserving of the title pale ale. This is just awful. I don’t think there are any hops in here. The aroma is sweet caramel and weird like strawberry or something. Flavor is exactly the same. Just blahhh malt and no hops. Honestly I didn’t expect anything more. Thank god my 500th rating is close so I can drink a Mephistophiles. again, this beer sucks bad. No wonder why the Berghoff children don’t want to run the company any more. Their beers suck dick. At least at 5.8% it’s above average for alcohol

pretty pour. gold hued amber body with a nice white head that laces. aroma, hmmm... i held this to my nose while watching a survivor rerun on OLN(i wanted hockey, oh how i wanted hockey) and i was not sure which brought a worse warning, the beer aroma or the shitty tv show. sour honey smell with something like a septic quality, but with cinnamon. sweet leathery flavor with some industrial cleaner. a lemony finish with some licorice. a lot of unpl;easant chemicals in this beast of a brew.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale yellow with about a finger of white head. Aroma of straw, grains and corn with a little citrus. Taste is about the same. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, just like every other Berghoff I’ve had, this beer is crap. I would call this a "Premium Lager" long before I called it an APA.

Bottle. Faint nose is nigh-impossible to detect. Only aroma pts are for slight citrus and mild hops, but really, this should be a 1. Pale orange body with a rocky yet fizzled-out off-white head and strong visible carbonation. Watery body is bland and infused with a slight (grassy) stale bitterness. Disgusting little disappointment.
