COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Berghoff Pale Ale is created in the classic American style. It is light copper-colored and medium bodied with a light maltiness. High quality American hops are used to produce this high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma, a must have for true hop aficionados!!! Berghoff Pale Ale is made with Brewer’s 2-row Malt, Carapils Malt and domestsic hops.

Bottle. Faint nose is nigh-impossible to detect. Only aroma pts are for slight citrus and mild hops, but really, this should be a 1. Pale orange body with a rocky yet fizzled-out off-white head and strong visible carbonation. Watery body is bland and infused with a slight (grassy) stale bitterness. Disgusting little disappointment.

Location: Draft at the Berghoff, 6/2/14

Aroma: The nose has some light hop notes, citrus, and some malt hints as well
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a small head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, light and okay, decent hop flavor, light malt backing
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with an okay mouthfeel
Overall Impression: There isn’t anything particularly wrong with this beer, it just isn’t too exciting. Okay beer, but not something I’d run (or even walk briskly) back for.

Draft in chicago airport. Poured a clear golden color. Fresh citrus floral hop aroma. Light caramel malts. Average carbonation. This is pretty good. Glad I found it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clean hop character without much excitement. Enjoyable enough though without any obvious flaws.

Aroma is fruit/berries and earthiness. The flavor is fruit, mild sweetness and some bitterness in the finish. Too close to an EPA, better to classify it as one.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear pale yellow with about a finger of white head. Aroma of straw, grains and corn with a little citrus. Taste is about the same. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, just like every other Berghoff I’ve had, this beer is crap. I would call this a "Premium Lager" long before I called it an APA.

Like a dim member of a party, this one is just barely enough to keep things going. It’s nothing fantastic, and the only flavor I could pick up on was a sort of metallic-apple-sweetness. Yet, I still wanted to finish my glass of it. If it were a song, it would be called [shoulders raised] "Beers that make ya go ’ehhh.’"

355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a 2 finger white head that settled quickly but did reveal some thin spotty lacing. Aroma is light caramel and herbal hops. Taste is quite malty sweet with a mild herbal hop bitterness with a touch of citrus. Light to medium body with some decent carbonation. Just not enough body and hops to pass as a good pale ale, so I recommend a pass on this one.

Bottle. Sweet orange and malt aroma. No hops detectable in the aroma. Light amber with a moderate off white head, decent lacing. Light malt and vegetal flavor. No discernible hops flavor. Reminds me more of some Märzens I’ve had.

hazy light copper color with rocky head and good lacing. Taste is sweet caramel malt with light bittering in the finish. Not complicated, not filling, and easy to drink. Good for the off day when you just want a beer or two.
