This medium bodied brew pours a reddish brown colour with a thin white head full of sweet malted aromas. It has a light silky mouthfeel for a winter bock.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 naivepegasus (306) - USA - JUN 3, 2008
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2008 Pours ruby red with a finger of slightly beige head. Fruity malts dominate the odor. The taste has a bit of a hop bitterness, and a slight aftertaste of toast. A bit watery, a bit of an oddness to it... nothing special.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Walt (2449) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2008
Pour is reddish amber with a thin off white head...smell is incredibly fruity with pear, nectarine, and apricot...also a little toasty bread-ish...taste is lightly fruity and strongly grainy...fairly roasty finish...not good, but not bad...
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 esjaygee (3209) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Reddish amber with medium off-white diminishing head. Aroma of sweet malts, light grassy hops and brown sugar. Flavor is of light caramel and fruit. Crisp and a little dry.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 19, 2008
Pretty good, but nothing special. Served from the tap in a g-d d-amn frozen shaker, so flavor might have been altered. Looks nice, with a red body and thick head. Flavor is nice and very Bock-ish, but not overwhelming and actually quite pleasant.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MrRain (473) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 31, 2008
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. BRBWA pours dark red to light brown with a large creamy-looking head with large rocky bubbles. The aroma is of light malt nad treated water. This beer has a nice balance of malt and hops. It is better than an average amber but not as good as a traditional German bock. The body is medium to full with a touch of alcohol in the finish.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - MAR 24, 2008
Bottle.Small fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, spotty amounts of lacing, transparent, fast rising carbonation, and an orangish red hue. Nose was malty, caramel, sweet, hint of fruit, and a hint of toffee.Ditto for the flavor along with some light bitterness. Tingly mouthfeel and medium in body.Quaffable, balanced, easy to drink, and a decent one to have on hand when not wanting a complex or a high ABV beer.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - MAR 21, 2008
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated brown colored body. The aroma was malty and musty. The crisp and clean mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of malt hops and brown malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jaymobrown (1508) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 3, 2008
A decent, fairly average beer. Darkish color. Light crisp nose. Some nice dark caramel malt flavors throughout. Good pick up to bring to a party to share in general, or to grab a few without wanting to really get into a beer too much.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 topherh (1857) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - JAN 29, 2008
12 oz bottle pours a nice clear red with a thick off white head. Aroma is most like your typical macro lager. Tastes better than it smells; lightly malty with a very mild bitterness.
