3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pretty good, but nothing special. Served from the tap in a g-d d-amn frozen shaker, so flavor might have been altered. Looks nice, with a red body and thick head. Flavor is nice and very Bock-ish, but not overwhelming and actually quite pleasant.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
A shade darker Copper, Good Head, Some Lacing. Same as others from sample pack, lacks flavor sharpness. Bland and subdued. Tastes Malty, Light Bitter and finishes little sour. Enjoyed it the least from this sample pack. Drinkable, but meh... Pass it....

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, just said íwinter aleí on the label. Light oxidized roasted and fruity aroma. Dark brown, offwhite layer. Fullbodied, light oily mouthfeel - quite a bit residual sweetness, nutty, roast, herbal hop balance - not entirely harmonious IMO.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle - Deep mahogany pour with a thinnish tan head. Nose is moderately sweet, bready malt, with a bit of molasses and next to no hopping. Taste is watered-down sweet bread, muted toffee and raisin notes, and a mildly sweet malt finish. Ample carbonation fluffs up the body a bit, but itís pretty slick and thin. About what I expected.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
bottle - Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. It has minimal aroma. The flavor is very sweet with some caramel. It tastes off though. Iím not sure what it is about it. I donít think itís infected, but whateverís going on, itís not good. Thin. Odd. Meh.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2012 Cola coloured, fluffy tan head.
Ok, hereís where it gets strange...I looked at the other reviews and mine is in left field.....maybe a bad bottle....donít know....hereís my take: Aroma is spice and Tomato...Taste is vaguely like a weak bloody mary mix....Thatís what I got out of it....Iím going to try another just to check myself. Strangely, it wasnít that bad. Thatís my justification for the mid-range rating. Iíll get back to this.
TAKE 2: Different bottle, (of course) purchased at different location.....same result, maybe not as much tomatoe-zing, but itís there. Other reviewers report iron and metallics, maybe thatís whatís throwing me off. Iím going to let this stand and try next winterís offering.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
An unoffensive and forgettable brew, but decent enough to drink. Minimal bitterness. Mild maltiness. Faint notes of raisins or prunes. A little too subtle for me.
