COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Berghoff Solstice Wit, named for the golden light of the longest day of the year, is a refined, Bavarian-style thirst-quencher. Made with the finest red wheat, 2-row malted barley, and the most sought-after American hops, this is a light, refreshing brew with subtle hints of Curacao orange and coriander. This was the first beer to feature the new Berghoff label design.

Pours a light cloudy yellow orange with a head that disappears fast. Aroma is very banana. So is the flavor, like a milkshake. Normally, I might say yum, but this is beer. Original, for sure.

Pours a hazy gold. Aroma is sickeningly sweet and wheaty. Taste is much the same. Not impressed.

12oz bottle from Woodmans. Poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy dark yellow with zero head. Some big chunks of something sank immediately to the bottom. Scent is of wheat and lemon zest. Maybe some orange in there. Taste is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes kind of like a Blue Moon. Medium-light bodied with a thick creamy texture. Soft carbonation and not much finish to speak of. Overall, its not that bad. Loses some points for the random chunks in the bottom which I don’t know what they are yet.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler from Woodman’s West Madison. Pours a hazy peach color with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma of citrus, pale wheat and a faint coriander spice finish. The taste is citrus, stone fruits, spice. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

Typical light wheaty Belgian. Supposedly it is a new batch, and I drank it at Baumgartner’s in Monroe, so I know it was fresh. Enjoyable.

12oz in Chicago. Banana ’runts’ candy, for sure. Big artificial sweet banana, wheat. Spritely and warm, pretty off-putting flavor.

A really bad American witibier. Just low level craft here. Light citrus and wheat notes.
