(3/2/08) Sample from a bottle (thanks to whoever brought this one) at the RB table at Zythos Bier Festival 2008 in Sint Niklaas. Amber color. A weird aroma with some cherry syrup and some artificial sweetener. Saccharine cherry flavor with hints of malt - really sweet. Light to medium body. Quite awful. Quite terrible and no hint of Porter character to be found.

--My sample was expired by a month and a few days, so it may not be a just rating.-- Aroma: Sweet cherries and cola. Mouthfeel: Very light and sticky. A few bubbles. Taste: Very sweet and cherryish, but totaly uncomplicated. There’s really nothing else to it. Finish: Sweet with some tartness. Overall: Drinkable but unremarkable. If it were less sweet... ------&#

Rating #699, bought in Berlin in some supermarket. It apperantly has an alias as Lausitzer Kirsch Porter, as well.

Okay, if this has anything to do with a porter, it a hell of light one. It is brown like a thin brown ale or something, and there is no stable head at all. Aroma is somewhat acceptable - a bunch of quite artificial cherries, but some malts as well. Flavor is sugary candy cherries, chocolate and a bit of roasted malts - the last part the only thing making this one just a bit porter-like. The finish is more acrid than bitter. This has nothing to do with craft brew, and maybe not even beer, but nontheless I am a sucker for artificial cherries and yes I like Coca Cola Cherry as well - which has excactly the same kind of cherry taste. A soft but bit thin palate. Somewhat tasteful beer in a weird candy like way.

+ Lekker zoet - ruikt niet naar bier - Je hebt meer het gevoel dat je een kersen drankje drinkt dan bier - nasmaak, droge schuim in mond

This is not just a stout, it’s a cherry fruit beer, but a good one. consists of 90% Lausitzer Porter and 10% cherries, with flavors of cherries. Fun beer to show to those who do not know it. very special.

BeerViking (1042) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2011
This appears to be a mixed drink or beer cocktail, rather than a fruit beer - 90% porter and 10% cherry soda, according to the label. It’s a deep brownish red with a beige head and a pleasant cherry aroma with just a touch of tartness. Sweetish on the palate with an underlying drier maltyness. Better than it could be, and better than the strawberry version, but overall much too sweet. Note to Bergquell: leave the sugar out of the soda!

Bottle. Nose is heavy cherry and not much else. Bark-brown pour that blackens in the glass with a lacing, rocky tan head. Taste is very sweet, again heavy cherry with a powdery light-medium body. Very lightly tart. There are some very light porter notes here, chocolate and even faint roast, but the syrup infusion (at only 10%) is dominant.

bottle, not as aromatic as Erbeer, but as well nice aroma, ruby dark clear, white foam, lightly bitter, heavy cloying sweetness, not bad taste..for me too much sweetmedium body, slick feel, long fruit finish, average fruit beer

Bottle from a small imbiss bar in Berlin. The pour is redish brown with a fine cappochino coloured head - it fades very quickly though and leaves an apearence that reminds me of coca-cola with a fizzy top. The nose is a bit acidic with los of caramel notes and some strong cherry sirup that dominates. The taste is sweet sweet sweet with lots af cane sugar and again lots of sirup - its very vomiting to me and waaaay to sweet...and reminds me of some soft drink that you get round christmas. The palate is thin with a fizzy strukture. Not my cup of tee. Damn

Red-brown colour with almost no head with good duration. Aroma is lots of cherry. Flavor is very sugar-sweet, and again lots of cherry. Watery finish.
