3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A thick pillow of head atop a reddish brown (or brownish red). The head dies down quickly, but the lace defiantly remains. Some pale malts in the smell mingle with deep roasted -- almost amber -- malts. A little musty but appropriate for style. Decent, mild hop. The flavor here is much more of a musty, funky amber ale than a pale. ALmost hte flavor of an old Killianís. Not unpleasant, but not a favorite. Some crisp pale malt flavors toward the end. This one is thick for a pale. Creamy, not spiky. Actually unusual for style. Iím not so sure this is even a pale; itís a decent enough brew, but not a sock-blower-offer.

Bottle shared at Sanderís in NYC. Pours clear, deep gold with a fine white cream head. Decent stuff, pretty basic. Lots of bready malts, some brown sugar, a bit of caramel, light bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, bready malts, some toasty doughy bread. Easy.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
the simple goodness of a pale ale. A full growler enjoyed. Dark amber color. Aroma is very light flower hope with some buttery sweet malt behind it. Toast with caramel taste and mild bitterness. Really the kind of beer they would love in Deerfield and the Berkshires.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My bottle is 3 months past the best by date so I assume this is skewing the beerís qualities a little. Strongest notes of caramel and sweet bread. Decent amount of carbonation and thin mouthfeel. A good beer that doesnít jump out in any way.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Aroma of nail polish and carmel malts. Clear ruby-brown beer with thick tan head. Chemical sweetness up front. Some toffee and molasses notes. Very little appreciable bitterness. Seems out of balance and maybe fermented too hot. Iíve liked some of the other BBC beers but this one just really isnít enjoyable.

A - Dark amber body with a red tint. Off-white soapy head. Really solid lacing and retention.
S - Sweet caramel malts and english style hops. A bit piney and grassy.
T - A bit subdued. Caramel and bready malts with a touch of clean grass. Simple and tasty. Medium body with low carbonation.
O - A simple and clean APA. Hops are light but it has a great bready malt backbone.
