sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2007 Called "Berkshire Ale with Dry Hopped Cascades" on cask at Sunset Grill in Allston, MA. Pours cloudy with a big head. The aroma is not very strong for a dry hopped cask beer. The flavour is rather thin and feels watered down. This was disappointing. I expected more.
porterhouse (1017), Alna, Maine, USA Dec 21, 2008 Pours mostly clear darkish coppery amber. Three fingers of lightly amberish off-white head that recedes to a frothy cap that is well-retained. Aroma is fairly sweet and malty with notes of egg cream and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth, medium heft, lightly pebbly. Well-retained foamy rings and sheets of lacing. Flavor of egg cream and caramel overlain by a nice hoppy bitter bite. Slight tinge of sourish dishrag. Overall not bad, seems slightly raw and unrefined, but OK. 22 oz. bottle from Rum Runner. WeeHeavySD (2188), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Oct 6, 2008 Bomber via trade or via me, don’t recall. Shared with my girlfriend pre dinner. Caramel Pour with a nice big head. Nose is really nice and big with a lot of apples for some reason and nice citrus. Taste is sweet and tasty great, really awesome pale. DrDavid (673), Johnson, Vermont, USA Sep 28, 2008 (Bottle). Mild grapefruit and hops aroma. Cloudy copper color with small light tan head that laces nicely. Flavor is very pleasant and drinkable. Citrus and light caramel malt. Clean finish with light bitterness. Quite good and refreshing. elihapa (464), Hawaii, USA Sep 5, 2008 Poured from Growler, a beautiful ruby red-brown with a medium white head. Aroma of hops, and a touch of roasts. Flavor starts on a smooth, semi-sweet note, with caramel, hops, and some earthiness. Through the mid-palate and the finish a distinct roasted flavor along with peet and some hops comes forward. The finish is medium-length, and just a tad strange in flavor. Overall, a solid pale ale that did not disappoint. Jblauvs (181), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Aug 31, 2008 Hazy orange pour with offwhite head. light grass hops in the aroma. Some fruit and significant hops in the mouth. Dark and murky. Also has some notes of fark sweet fruit. Not bad.
