COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Copper amber in color, this medium bodied ale has a great balanced flavor. A fruity spicy hop finish compliments in malty caramel taste. Think of English pale ale dry hopped with German Tettnang hops. This ale was made to sustain you during the long New England winter.

Bottle thanks to OldGrowth: Pours a clear orange copper with a frothy, sticky, clumpy-lacing, off-white head. Sweet toasted crystal malty aroma has some earthy hoppy notes. Starts with a semi-sweet earthy caramel flavor revealing more citrusy bittering hops toward a crisp bittersweet noble hoppy finish. A decent winter brew.

Bottle at Nate’s Leaving Do care of Leighton. Colours clear chestnut brown. Nose is sour. Unfortunately it’s a touch infected. Nose is wild yeast, grainy malt husk underneath. Taste is the same. Like a Belgian bruin. Not that unpleasant but not what was intended.

On tap. Red-brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malty, sweet. Medium body, a little oily. Flavor is pretty much malt, on the sweeter side, caramel, a little spice. Ok.

On tap. Appearance is a dark caramel, slight deep red hue, white head, good carbonation. Aromas are on the malty side, spices, cinnamon and a slight nutmeg. Palate is almost all malt, with a balanced spice hitting the mid palate of nutmeg and a light cinnamon. Really not a spicy beer, but it does balance out the malt forwardness. Not bad for a winter offering.

Poured from a tall bottle purchased in MA into a short glass to drink. The beer had a rich brown color with a slight reddish hue and a smaller, creamy dark tan head with mild cling and retention. It featured malty scents of caramel, molasses, and slight touches of coffee and chocolate, along with some earthy hops for balance. The taste was fairly sweet and featured a mixture of caramel and a bit of bitter hops as well. A smooth, wet, and lighter beer with low to average carbonation and a thin mouthfeel.

So not sure why ratebeer has this down as a strong ale. 22oz bomber. Light tan ale color with well holding white 3 finger head. Aroma is a little plain breadiness and sweet grain. The taste is a bit deeper with orange hops and spicy yeast and on the whole sweetness. Well balanced and fresh palate like all of Berkshire brews

22-ounce bottle courtesy of HikerCT. Served in a Mikasa tulip. Pours a bright light brown color with a single-finger off-white head that has some spotty lacing. The nose carries a bit of light caramel and some bread, not too much else. The flavor is equally bland. Some bread. Maybe bread crust, too. Yay! Not much in the way of spicing, so at least it’s not overspiced. Medium body and quite chewy. Blah. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-17-2011

Bomber. Pours a light orange with a white head. Sweet aroma followed by a sweet caramel taste with some citrus. Usually not my favorite style but this is pretty good.
