All of the above. Probably the BBC beer I had the least ( but were still talking at least a case of bombers over 4 years) and coincidentally one of the best ones. I went more for certain styles back in the day than particular beers and tended to stick to double ipa, American strong, Belgian strong, and imp stouts, basically all the high grav stuff. Well balanced coffee porter, could be a bit stronger ( in the coffee) for my taste this year but shows nice balance and tastes like a real beer when in good condition.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Served on nitro at Julians, Providence. Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of rich coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. The taste is rich chocolate, coffee, vanilla, roasted malts, stone fruits and a mild hop finish. Medium bodied. Very nice beer.

Pint at Five Horses Tavern, Boston (*ahem...Somerville) The best part about it was the smooth texture and the creamy foam that hung around on the surface. The mouthfeel was reminiscent of a nitro tap pour, even though it was a traditional tap. It was pitch black and had the traditional porter flavor aspects of coffee, chocolate, and oats. Again, I enjoyed this one mostly due to its heavy, smooth, and satisfying character. If Iím drinking a porter, I donít want any hint of watery nonsense, and this one jumped that hurdle with flying colors.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep brown almost black with a very nice tan head and loads of lacing.
Aroma- slightly bitter with a strong coffee nose. Roasted notes are also very present.
Flavor - Nice coffee nose, hints of espresso and roast. Fairly bitter but balanced and flavorful.
The beer is very light bodied which takes away from what could be a very nice full bodied coffee brew. Instead being so thin the coffee notes become almost to dominant and take away from the "beer" aspect

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
65cl bottle, thanks to Lewisís Mum. Pours opaque black with a red hue. A nicely proportioned crema head. The nose has dry coffee - like freshly ground but not made into the drink. The taste has creamy coffee with a hint of chocolate. The palate is medium to full bodied with a big creamy texture and an elegant finish.

Bottle thanks to my buddy Chadwell! Very dark brown/black pour, some spotty carbonation and a rich cold fresh cold pressed coffee aroma. Flavor is light coffee and vanilla, thin body and a watery finish. Decent.

Bottle shared with hobbie100. Thanks Richard!
A: Dark brown with a big, thick beige head that leaves a huge amount of lacing on the glass.
S: coffee, malt
T: A decent tasting coffee porter. The coffee is very bitter. I would really prefer a fresh coffee aroma and taste. Also, I think that perhaps more malt leading to a fuller body would enhance the base beer and make a better foundation for the coffee.
M: The body is a little too thin.
D: An ok beer, but I donít feel the need to have it again.
