COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark ale combines the taste of real organic coffee with out popular Drayman's Porter. The robust coffee flavor comes vis a special coffee extract made for us exclusively by Dean's Beans, New Salem MA.

On Tap Redbones: Opaque black color. Small head, laces on glass. Light band aid nose. Malt coffee taste, medium lasting. Nice medium roasted aftertaste.

The Lure:
Sweet and roasty coffee emanations surround an impending dryness. Near headless, looks like a cheap macro coffee.

The Festivities:
Coffee roastiness and dark malts blend well in the porous, thin body. A little cream on top gives it a little more depth.

Transcendence:
For summer mornings where you just don’t care anymore.

Good, decent porter with a nice flavor and good finish. But while ten or more years ago I thought that having coffee in a prter or stout was a great idea, the novelty has worn a bit thin. If this had perhaps just a bit more charachter it could be great - as it is, it’s good.

There’s certainly some coffee here (no surprise there) and a slight sourness on the finish. The colour is darkish brown. Nice rounded, supple mouthfeel. Not the most assertive US beer I’ve had, but I thought it was rather good - not a stand-out, but no obvious faults either. Cask, GBBF 2004.

Cask@GBBF04’. Sweetish to start, then some roasted bitter, dry coffee in the finish. Quite a flat mouthfeel, pretty soft palate, decent roasted coffee flavours.

[Cask conditioned] Very dark brown coloured. The aroma is very coffeeish with roasty malt notes. The flavour is pure coffee. Very extreme and interesting.

Gravity. GBBF. Camp coffee! Sweet chicory and a vegetable margerine oily perfumed thin strangeness. Stop. Make sense here Silk! Yes. A strange beer that doesn’t make sense. Raspberry, wild blueberry and some late Autumn blackberries. A mess. But an interesting mess. Not a great beer, but certainly pleasantly drinkable and a good laugh.

Cask conditioned - gravity- GBBF 2004. A black beer with a roasty aroma. The taste is very sweet for a porter and there didn’t appear to be many coffee notes either. I would have classed this as a sweet stout if I’d not known what I was drinking. A good beer if a bit confused!

Thin bodied, totally dominated by coffee. Could have scored higher with a bit more body, but the coffee was really good, left my mouth dry and chalky. Tops of the four Berkshire beers sent by Old Growth!!!! Thanks!!
