Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours dark hazy brown with light mocha head. The nose is sweet malts, coffee beans, molasses and brown sugar. The taste is pretty full with rich coffee goodness followed by a note of roasted malts, sugar sweetness and a bit of molasses. Into the finish hops show up along with lingering malt roastiness. Wow, I enjoyed this one.

Very nice appearance, consistent head (reminds a nytro), but the taste is kind of void. Lacks body on my opinion, and is over in the coffee. Maybe I?m not a big fan of coffee beers at all.

12 oz pour into a pint glass. On nitro tap at a local bar.
A - Cascading effect typical of nitrogenated beers. Dark brown body with a fluffy two finger light mocha head with very tight bubbling. Dies down to about one finger but lasts the entire beer. Lacing and retention is crazy.
S - Really fresh coffee aroma followed by some lightly roasted caramel malts. Finish is of bitter beans and hops.
T - Similar to the nose. Lots of sweet roasted coffee beans and bready caramel malts. Finish is almost similar to an IPA, bitter beans and piney hops. Very well balanced and delicious. Mouth feel is creamy and silky while still remaining light and easy drinking.
O - Probably my favorite local beer, made even better by the nitrogen tap. Really well balanced and fresh tasting coffee porter at an awesome value. 22 oz bombers sell for under $4.

Decent coffee porter: aroma is adequate; appearance is very dark brown with a thin beige head; flavor is coffee, roasted malts, and slight amount of chocolate. Palate has some carbonation.

Pours a super dark brown that is impenetrable to light with a off-white brownish foam head that dissipates. Smells of coffee beans, some yeast or maybe vanilla. Beer itself isn’t thick but not too watery either. Has little hops but a nice coffee taste that goes inbetween sweet and dark. Malt is quite dark, and finishes with a burnt coffee bean malt flavor that if it were any stronger I would have to drink this beer much slower. Drayman’s alone is a pretty average porter but the added Dean’s beans give it a good distinctive coffee flavor. Not the best coffee porter I’ve had but good.

10th February 2012 Bottle shared by Evin and the Kernel crew, cheers guys! Hazy dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi soft and semi dry. Smooth coffee and dark chocolate in the dark malt. The coffee tastes like it’s hung around for awhile but is still potent. Semi dry finish. Minerals. Allright but I can’t help thinking it has a somewhat forced feel about it.

A great beer that I had on a nitro tap at the brewery in January of 2012. The beer had a creamy, dark brown/black color with a big milky dark tan head with good cling and retention. The beer had a rich coffee malt aroma with compliments of caramel and chocolate, and a mix of floral and earthy hops for balance. The taste was rather sweet with a pleasant, strong coffee effect and a bit of chocolate, caramel, and some mild bitterness. It was a very smooth, wet, and creamy beer with a medium-dense mouthfeel and nice finish.

On tap as the Nitro Coffee. Pours a rich brown, quite dark hue, coffee cream head. Aromas are very delicate roasted coffee beans and sweet. Palate is so smooth, the nitro tap really makes it super creamy and light. The coffee really flurishes in the mid to finish, but its like a light smooth creamy mouthful. Bottle is good, Nitro is amazing.

22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours very dark brown with a fluffy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, a little smokiness and some floral hops. Flavor about the same with a nice coffee finish. Average texture. A pretty good beer.

Bottle from Keg and Cask, Mystic, CT. The aroma is coffee, milk chocolate. The appearance is a deep brown, reddish hue, light tan head. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, roast. Medium in body, creamy mouthfeel. The finish i roast, light pine hops, some chocolate milk sour aftertaste. Pretty decent overall.

Bomber received in a recent trade with mkabull. Thanks again man!
Pours a dark chestnut brown color that is opaque in the glass with faint mahogany edges and a two finger frothy yellowish beige head. Good retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap that leaves nice chunks of lacing behind.
Deep roasted coffee aroma with lots of other silky dark malt notes that never becomes acrid or burnt smelling. Subtle lactic cream and luscious chocolate compliment the gourmet coffee in the nose very well. This actually smells like good coffee fused with a roasted malt beer rather than burnt coffee grinds and old filters.
Chewy full body with a blast of deep toasted coffee flavor that lingers over the roasted dark malt notes into a slightly acrid dry finish. Although the beer is pretty roasty with a ton of coffee flavor, it is never overwhelming or one dimensional. Again, there is a subtle lactic cream presence that smooths things out and provides fullness to the plate. There’s also dome bittersweet dark chocolate as well as some oatmeal, caramel and hazelnut flavor. Toward the finish it becomes more bitter and acrid but overall it’s nicely balanced and easy to drink.
