UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a very dark clear brown with a large frothy tan head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing. The aroma was quite thick of the scent of coffee with dark roasted malts and a chewy leathery yeast with notes of roasted coffee, molasses and dark chocolate. The taste was sweetly bitter and had a nice malty presence with coffee overtones in the beginning and finished with a strong coffee flavor, yet still sweetly bitter but with hints of chocolate and molasses with a touch of caramel at the end. Mouthfeel was full in body with the texture being smooth and creamy and an almost flat carbonation. Overall a wonderfully tasting Porter. All of the components in this brew worked together very well giving you an extremely well balanced beer. A great representation of the style.

Dark copper, clear, no lace. Medium to full body, moderate but dense flavor, subdued mouthfeel with avg heat, carbonation and length. Very bitter and dry. Hoppy, roasty, chocolate, coffee, burnt sugar, hint of madeira wine. Pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Thirsty Moose (NH) with Patty. Pours a deep black body with off white lacing. Aroma is coffee grinds and light cocoa. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of bitter roast, earthy coffee grounds, cocoa, chalky and light sweet chocolate notes.

Nice smooth coffee, and a lot of it. Light roast. Somewhat sweet. Drinking side by side with a black coffee on ice. Rather light body, not quite watery, but its bordering on it. Thx johnnnniee! Enjoyed while switching back and forth between Blues playoff and Miami Vice TV Show.

Backlogged to have a good #700. Pours brown/black with minimal tan head Aroma is roasted malts with tons of cold coffee. Flavor is chocolate, and again, coffee. Coffee is the hero here for sure. Not too bad of a body on it for a lower abv porter. Not great, but not bad. A good coffee porter.

This has been and still is my favorite porter ever. Itís awesome. Nice dark beer with a thick caramel head. Smells of mocha. Tastes smooth with nice strong hints of coffee and chocolate. Nice velvety texture on the palate. This is an awesome beer!

APPEARANCE - dark and appealing. Thin head with moderate lacing that is gone in flash. NOSE - definitely the highlight of this beer. First scent is great, but the alure fades as I continue to imbibe. Roasty malt and scents of coffee. FLAVOR - some coffee, some roasted malt and surorisibly bitter for this style. Unlike a lot of its coffee porter/stout cousins, itís not terribly smooth.

Massachusetts best kept secret because although I love sam Adams the berkshire brewing company is the top beer of MA. The taste is a strong bitter but good bitter beer. Very toasty and has a smooth finish you cannot beat this beer. Coming to Springfield MGM casinos in 2017 go visit springfield and enjoy this remarkable beer in MA.

Bottle from Western Mass gas station. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. not much on the nose. the coffee is a bit thin for my tastes though itís fairly forward. Thereís some solid roasted notes as well. finishes clean. I think I prefer the Draymanís without the coffee add.
