This American version of a traditional Bohemian Pilsner is a true lager, brewed to emulate the original style born in Plzen, Czechoslovakia. Berkshire uses authentic Pilsner floor malt from the Czech Republic in this classic beer. Light in color, our Pilsner is dry and crisp, and pungently hopped with Czech Saaz hops to impart a rich aroma, with a subtle bitterness to the finish.

Transfer from BA review on 8-18-12 - Poured from bomber into pint glass Appearance – The beer was poured a medium golden color with a big thick just lightly off white head. The head had decent retention, eventually fading to give a moderate level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of malt. It has a bready and biscuity smell. Mixed with these malts is also some floral, grassy and light citrus hop aromas. Taste – The taste begins with a dry malt flavor. Towards the middle there is some citrus that comes to the tongue. Any sweetness that was present in the start (which was quite light) is now largely gone. At the end there is a floral and grassy hop flavor which combined with the malt base to leave a slightly bitter and dry flavor to be left on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The beers body is rather average as well as its carbonation level. Overall – It had a decent flavor and aroma, but was nothing too special. It was rather simple and lacked much complexity. Good for a easier drinking brew, but nothing to really go out of your way for.

Musty cracker malt aroma. Hazy yellow color, pretty still. Flatly bitter taste, no real malt character here. Lighter body, sort of a washout crispness wise. Disappointing overall I have to say.

It smells good, looks good, but the taste and palate totally lack. Hop forward, which can be great, but no malt backbone whatsoever and a lingering acidity (this tends to happen with Berkshire beers). Essentially hopwater, and this rating from a pilsner lover.

Draft @ Coalhouse Pizza. This has the crispness of typical pilseners but there’s an extra moderate malt breadiness that is unique. Due to this breadiness, this has less drinkability than most pilseners, but this is still quite tasty.

Tried this last night on tap at a beer tasting and along with 40+ local beers (New England) Always been a fan of BBC but never tried this. Great clean crisp taste, plain and simple, a great tasting beer.

No. This beer isn’t bourbon-barrel aged, or passed through a rhubarb randall. I don’t care about IBUs or drink-by dates (*Stone*). We’re tired of all this beer snobbery, hogwash, and pretentiousness. Let’s get back to why we started drinking beer in the first place. Pure, untainted, balance of hops, yeast, and malt. Beer that tastes like it was made on an old family farm. Stinky, green, rooty. Crisp, lush, fresh. Creamy, quenching, classic. Don’t miss this year’s iteration of Berkshire Czech Style Pils.

Nice and clean. Had on tap at the Grog, and boy was I impressed. Flavor profile of rice flour, Saaz hops, pilsner malt, and, German yeast, dandelions, and cotton. Crisp. Very respectable.

Pours a clear yellow color with a white head that has little retention. Aroma is of bready malts, grass, and a little hops. Flavor is of hops, malts, aluminum, and wheat. A nice crisp finish.
