UPDATED: OCT 20, 2005 Re-rate:
I think I ended up with a bad bottle last time as this stuff is well above the grain for the style. Pours copper with a nice tan head. Smells of bananas and malty. Taste is thick with a nice malt profile and a tarte finish. Great brew!
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5076) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 2, 2006
Pours a nice light amber with a fluffly lasting white head. Aroma is a touch of DMS- some corn, toasted malts, caramel and lightly herbal. Flavor is toasted and nutty mlats, some light munihc character and a light herbal bitter finish. nice and smooth overall. Needs to get rid of the DMS to really be good though.

Sampled from a 22-oz bomber during MN Gathering II and shared by tytoanderso. Pours a semi-hazy orange/amber brew with a thin off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some floral hops, a touch of vanilla and maple syrup. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of mostly caramel malt, very light floral hops with some vanilla and toffee in the background. Finish is semi-sweet with a caramel malt and toffee aftertaste. Pretty much a solid Oktoberfest overall.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 20, 2004
Sweet butterscoth diacetyl aroma. Hazy amber-brown with off-white head that diminishes to ring. Diacetyl dominates the flavour also. Oily and slick on the tongue. Altogether not very pleasant. On tap at the Vermont Brewers Festival.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - OCT 10, 2002
22oz bomber. Pours dark, semi-cloudy amber, small smooth head. Nose VERY sweet, malty, butterscotch, hints of vanilla and licorice, no floral/hoppiness. Like the last rater, I didn’t find it as sweet as others, but it certainly is on the malty side, and has some unpleasant stale flavors as well. Good body; but overall a disappointment.

Pouring at the Brass City Brew Fest. Pours a clear orange brown with a medium beige head. Light grain and caramel on the nose. Medium bodied with a light sweetness. Smooth with some light yeast, and a dry crisp finish.

A: The beer pours amber in color with a couple fingers of khaki colored head.
S: Aromas of toffee and bread with a subtle toasted malt character. There is a fair bit of yeast as well as some fruity esters such as apples. A touch of caramel in there, too.
T: A bit of a popcorn type flavor, maybe caramel corn when combined with the caramel sweetness. Toffee and toasted bread malts are also present. Some yeast and fruity, sweet esters.
M: Medium bodied and medium carbonation.
O: A bit one note, but not a bad Oktoberfest.
