It’s fairly offensive that this beer has achieved only a 46%. This is by far the best marzen that I’ve ever had. Orangeish-red coloring with a light white head. Retains the standard sweetness that is apparent in most BBC brews, combined with a brisk wheatiness and hints of cinnamon? You really will be surprised by this one. Don’t listen to the other naysaying reviewers.

Pours a dark gold bordering on brown with a thick tan head. The nose is malty, roasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar, with a distinct tartness, and some fresh baked bread essence. The taste is sensational, sweet caramel, upfront with some hoppy bitterness that is semi-balanced leaning more toward a malty front. The alcohal presence is a bit stong but not overpowering. This is a quality Oktoberfest that is very enjoyable and easily one of my favorites in the style.

22oz fresh bomber poured 9/2/10. 90210 actually......Bringing in the best beer season with a wonderful example of all its glory. This fest beer is sweet, carmel lamented and satisfying. It just presents itself as a happy fall brew made hand crafted in the berkshire mountains, what more could a beer of the seanson ask for? Sip, slid and bring it all down the hatch with with wonderful October brew.

My favorite Oktoberfest beer this year is hands down from BBC. I have had it everywhere from Eli Cannon’s to bottles and beer fests. There is a slightly more present sweetness to this version than others which I think goes over very well. Oktoberfests can tend to be a little...blah..but the malt and sweet aftertaste of this one works well.

Poured from a 1pt. 6fl.oz. into a Goose Island Pint glass. The color is a dark reddish orange with a finger of foamy white head and some nice lacing. The smell is sweet with some nice malt flavor in the nose at first and some pumpkin flavor and a little bit of brown sugar in the background. The taste is more brown sugar with a sweet malt flavor. Pumpkin is a big contributor to the overall flavor profile but there are some other flavors that comes out toward the end of the sip. The is a touch of Cinnamon and a hint of other spices. There is a good mouth feel is a bit light and feels like a easy drinking beer that is not as complex at it actually is.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2005 Re-rate: I think I ended up with a bad bottle last time as this stuff is well above the grain for the style. Pours copper with a nice tan head. Smells of bananas and malty. Taste is thick with a nice malt profile and a tarte finish. Great brew!

This seemed at little dark for an Oktoberfest, but the smell was familiar and malty. I read the reveiw befor I bought it, but I did not taste the sweetness that the other two mentioned. It tasted like your standard Oktoberfest. Overall, it is not the best beer they make...

Deep reddish color with some good foaming action in there. Sweeter flavor that was nicely married with a tarty spiciness. Nice stuff.

Best by: 01/28/12. 22 oz bomber into a pint glass. A - Clear dark brown/copper body. A mocha head formed and stuck around for a few minutes. S - Lots of bready malts and spices. Little bit of alcohol. T - Lots of great malt flavor; bread, toffee, caramel, and yeast. The spice note is smooth and well balanced. Alcohol can be noticeable as it warms up. Nice carbonation and a medium mouth feel. O - A very well done Oktoberfest. Props to BBC for making some really solid brews.

Bottle. Orange and clear with a beautiful lasting tannish head. Malty bready slightly acidic aroma. Munich malt flavors dominate, little hops. Somewhat clean. Malty finish. Decent Fest.
