Draught at Flat Street. Pours golden with a thin creamy white head. Tastes and smells a bit like some honey with nice peppery elements and a sugary finish.

Bottle, thanks Cody. Pours a clear light orange with a small white head. Largely blank nose with some light grains and hops, certainly nothing off-putting though. Flavor is good, though I’m a sucker for this style. Very good balance between malt and hops, this comes off as fresh and bright, with a short, crisp finish. Super nice flavor here. Not as grassy as many Czech pils, but the balance and profile is superb. A lot of people will pass this one over as it’s not super exciting, but it’s quite well crafted.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2005 Draught pint at Redbones, 12/3/05. Pours a very clear hay-yellow, simple, with a small white head that eventually recedes to a ring. Spotty lacing is quite present, plenty of carbonation. Aroma of dry, farmy hops, light grass and strong herbs. A distinct fruitiness (dry nectarines, peaches, lemons) makes me question the yeast, but it fits in with the honey and strong hoppiness. The flavor is immediately fruity, with unripened nectarines and peaches and a slight touch of apples and vanilla. Saazy hops and a fair amount of fresh, chewy yeast add light complexity, while the malt flavor takes over. Honey, light white grapes sweetness and lots of grainy, lightly husky pale malt grains on the end. Carbonation is moderate, adding some biting texture, while the malt never gets terribly sweet. But for an American pils, the hops and yeast, albeit questionably lagerish in nature, make for a flavorful experience, whether it be a lager or ale. Tight, but lightly sharp carbonation and a lightly grainy feel, with plenty of yeast apparency.

Pours a two finger white head that fades quickly to a thin leaving some lace. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Almost clear pale yellow/amber color. Nose is grassy hops. Flavor is sweet grass with light bitterness. Good pilsner. Their site puts the ABV at 5.5%. $4.50 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits, Acton, MA.

Clear straw gold; thin head. Czech? Smells very German, Northern. Farmhousy Saaz hops; slightly dirty. Initially quite carbonated. Sweetness comes in at the back. Medium body, but the hops are lean. Not bad, but I would like this less sweet, a little hoppier, and maybe a little lighter.

My Bottom Line:
Honeyed cereal lengths dominate the delicate herbal hops in this rounder-than-usual Pilsener.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-The fruity edges are puzzling.
-This remains very drinkable throughout, but it is not crisp enough and it is not really balanced.
-Herbal hops provide minute bitterness.

22oz bottle. "Czech Pilsner" Pours a golden color with a small, white fluffy head that recedes leaving lacing and a thick foamy ring. Nose is grassy, toasted grains. Palate is refreshing with a slickness that is followed by a light sticky feeling. Flavor is grassy hops, toasty grains, a light biscuity note.

Solid beer, easy drinking, thirst quenching, nice pour, not as clear as I thought it would be, a little mellow for a Pils, I was expecting it to be a little sharper and more crisp, hops are a little dull to me, but all in all a good beer.

Grainy malt aroma. Lightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Light bitter beginning with a light sweet and bitter finish.
