pours a clear golden amber. Nose is very disappointing with no raspberry to speak of just is some sweet caramel malt and alcohol. the flavor is no better with drab malt sweetness and only the faintest hint of any raspberry.

From the 650 ml. bottle. It pours reddish-brown with a short-lived white head. The aroma feels more like a barleywine than the name suggest with a good barley malt character and more of a hint of raspberry. The body is medium. The raspberries really kick in on the taste making me forget that this is a barleywine. It carries a punch that makes my head spin. I can see why people are not enthusiastic about it but it is definitely one of a kind.

Canít say Iíve had a raspberry Barley Wine before. This pours a cloudy, amber-brown body with half an inch of tan head that settles to a ring. The nose is sweet, very caramely malt, some toastiness, and of course plenty of raspberry, though it smells more like jelly than actual fruit. As expected, itís sweet and fruity on the palate too, but I did not expect that the jelly-like raspberry flavor would actually dominate the sweet, caramely malt like this. Itís full bodied, sweet to the point of cloying, and medium in carbonation. Overall, I canít say Iíve enjoyed this, and Iím not sure adding fruit to a Barley Wine is a good idea. Itís just too much sweetness on top of more sweetness. A little berry tartness would really help this beer though.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bomber. Pour is a deep clear ruby amber with a thing off white head. Smell is raspberry overload with a touch of the caramel malt in the background. Taste is sweet and tart with raspberry syrup and not much other flavor going on. This reminds a bit too much of blackberry brandy when you combine the scent, taste and pallate. I hate giving bad ratings but this is one those times. Just an overly sweet fruity syrupy disaster and doesn't at all resemble what a barleywine should be.

A: pours a copper-on-cherry ale with a single finger of peanut head which falls quickly to a shameless nebulous of the same circling the surface like a shark on standby. Soap suds on the collar. Spotty lacing. When I agitate this liquid, the foam forming becomes a canvas for the ale to show itís cherry hues. (3.5)
S: Sweet and cherry like. Initially, I get this woody, cherry and vanilla smell on the front end of a Flanders or Oud Bruin. I await in vain for a second wave of the cider vinegar I am more familiar with in aforementioned styles. Retains the sweetness and even touches on strawberry. Iím caught off-guard. (3)
T: Still sweet and saccharin raspberry-esque. The beer is really, really sweet. Underlying bitterness is there and attempts to wrestle the alcohol into submission, and makes a valiant effort, but I think the sweetness accentuates it. The beer is like maraschino cherry and raspberry liquor. (2)
M: Oily and nearly flat. Slightly dry finish. Hints of alcohol burn on the finish as well. (2.5)
O: Too sweet for me. Reminds me of timmermanís Strawberry. Not a bad beer, just not my cup of tea. The beer would benefit from a lactobacillus addition IMO. (2)
Guess: Raspberry American lambic

Draft. Pours amber with a white head. Fruity juicy raspberry sweetness with a hint of booze, and sweet fruity and malty finish. A little bit to big, but still pretty good.
