From the bottle marked Best By 9/15/11. It pours into the tall glass a medium to darker ambef with a huge amount of puffy tan head due more to my straight up pour. Sweet malts are vibrant on the nose with little in the way of wheat, hops, or spices. The body is fuller than expected. It has a wonderful sweet taste up front with a tiny hop bite out back. I really liked this one.

22 oz. bomber poured into a tall pilsner glass.A - Deep brownish red. A good sized white head formed that is still sitting high ten minutes later. This beer looks perfect in this glass. S - Sweet malts and a certain honey/candy quality. There is a bit of faint hops in there as well. Really great aromas. T - Sweet malts. I hate to copy the aroma, but there is just this great honey sweetness to it. The hops leave a nice little bitterness in the end that balances out the sweetness. Smooth carbonation and medium mouth feel. 7% abv? Ya right! O - This is my first american dark wheat ale and I’m in love. I was gonna either grab this or the coffee house porter which I’ve had numerous times. I made the right decision. BBC is a real gem of a brewery. Always amazingly fresh and well crafted beers, and I can find bombers everywhere for under $4. Seek this out!!

I guess the best thing that I can say about this beer is that I’m going to buy it again. It is a really sweet beer, with a healthy dose of malts.

2009 Bottle. This BBC brew seems like a year-round adaptation of their Octoberfest. Strong alcohol flavor and presence accents the sweet caramel tones that are quite complex. Slightly acidic finish, similar to that of Belgian ales or other beers carbonated with candy sugar. Dry and enjoyable.

It’s dark, it’s a lot of wheat, and it’s strong. I bought a 22 ouncer and used 6 ounces for a grilled beer can chicken and the other 16 ounces went straight into my gullet. Over dinner, I don’t think my jokes have ever been funnier. Just kidding, of course. I think have a wheat allergy because I only sneezed 22 times; in a row. I blamed it on the chicken dry rub. On a ’professional’ note- this beer is so caramel, you can’t see through the glass, the malt is definitely there, but balanced by some ’real’ german hops, i think that’s what it said on the bottle.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber-hued body with a big, vast, off-white head.
Smell: Moderately sweet-scented aroma of brown sugar, caramel, and toasted bread crusts, a small note of fruitiness, and the stingiest dash of dried bitter herbs.
Taste: Malty tastes of light-colored caramel and brown sugar with lesser, lighter touches of toasted wheat and cocoa powder. Slight touch of vaguely berry accented fruitiness. Very faint herbal hop traces with a low level of bitterness. Sweetish, nutty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A simple, malty, sweet-leaning beer that goes down with ease. However, at 7%, you might not want to just plow through the bomber, though I couldn’t help do so.

Pours with a slightly cloudy deep red brown body topped by a medium thick head leaving behind a good amount of lace. Sweet and fruity aroma similar to banana bread. Sweet and fruity(banana) malt flavor with a good hoppiness. The finish is malty with roasty notes. Medium to full bodied, slightly warming and smooth.
