COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(http://berkshirebrewinginboston.wordpress.com/2011/04/25/newlimited-release-saint-of-circumstance-ipa/) Available on Draft and 22oz bottles hittin shelves this week!! This special take on an IPA recalls what IPAs might have been like in the early 1800ís. With a pleasantly bitter earthy, grassy hop character, this brew has hints of smoke and toffee, hard water notes of mineral, and a crisp, dry finish. 5.7% v/v, 45 IBU This is a one-time brew, something that if we even tried we could not perfectly duplicate so try it if you see it! Cheers! Also labeled as Franklin Land Trust Preservation Ale

This one is pretty odd. Definitely has a smokey odor and a quick hit of smoke upon first sip. Then it gives way to a relatively mild hop profile and finishes clean and, well, sorta void of anything else. Not bad, just not spectacular. The smokey part is interesting for whatís labeled an IPA.

22oz bottle-shared @jtcís Tasting-pours amber with a thin offwhite head and trailing lace. Aroma is floral, light/medium malt. Taste is floral/spice hops, light/medium malt-caramel.

22oz sample bottle. I had some big expectations off this one, itís pretty rare to get a new offering, especially IPA from BBC. As it turns out I thought this was as down the middle for a beer as you could get, nothing bad or great. Color is lighter than the LS, hop profile is not as bitter on the palate, itís more malty. No real citrus bite, itís just clean. Nothing super exciting.

Bottle at Jamesí mead tasting. Pours a clear light orange amber with a medium to large sized white head. Soft hops and toasty malt, slightly spicy and herbal. Medium bodied, toasty wheat, lightly earthy, soft caramel and toast. Slow soft bitterness, light grapefruit notes.

Sweet floral hop aroma. Hazy dark golden color with a large white airy head. Very light bitter beginning that fades fast. Finish has a weak palate and has a light soap flavor.

22 oz. bomber poured into a shaped pint glass. Ahhhh, a one off IPA from BBC. The result of a botched version of lost sailor with some new "mystery" hop. As always it was at a bargain price of $3 and change. A - Pours a nice dark amber color with an impressive white fluffy head that sticks around for a while. Tons of carbonation and bubbles. S - Sweet malts, citrus hops, and some grassiness. Very balanced smell that doesnít really hint at the smokiness Iím about to dig into. T - Woah. Who let the smoke in? Theres the balance between the caramel sweetness of the malts and the light citrus from the hops. And then theres this amazing smokiness that comes and goes rather quickly. Its not too intense, but it really compliments these flavors. Bitterness is pretty low making this very drinkable. O - I wish I had a lost sailor to compare this to since I havenít had one in a few months. This is definitely a unique take on the IPA. Iím used to the American IPA with the blistering bitterness and grapefruit, but I gotta admit that I really dig this brew and style. Iíll be sure to grab another bomber before theyíre all gone.

A very well balanced ipa had from a 22oz bottle. The color was a nice amber tocuhed by orange. The aroma was a bit of grass and hay up front chased by toffee and yes i did get a hint of smoke. Follows the label description well. There is a light bitterness all the way through and this is an ipa whoís malt seaks just as much as its hop. BBCís typical unfiltered preperation gives a good meduim mouth feel. I sort of hope they dont stop making this one.

Bottle. Pours a copper color with a thick off white head that leaves sporadic lacing throughout. Nose is light but is light smoke with some apples, grass notes. Palate is medium with a nice full swallow and dirty tongue. Flavors of grass, honey sweetness, dry peaty notes, and some apricot like fruits.

22 oz bottle from Julioís Liquors. Pours hazy orange with a nice 2 finger off white head that leaves some nice sticky lace behind. Citrus aroma, oranges & tangerines, with a hint of earth. Flavor closely follows the aroma with the addition of a hint of smoke. It was there, then, just as quickly, it was gone. Moderate in body with a good amount of carbonation.

Pours deep gold into a Sam glass. Off-white micro head with excellent retention craters and recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Earthy resin aromas. Soft with sweet caramel and nuts upfront turning to sour hay before mild resin in the medium length finish.
