Pours with a cloudy amber gold body topped by a thin head and good lace. Sweet and fruity (lemon and berries)hop aroma. Sweet fruity (lemon and berries) hop flavor with a slightly hoppy finish. Medium bodied, slightly dry and smooth.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 joebudzjoe (490) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Draft from Monster B’s. This is a definitive session beer that doesn’t wow or disappoint. Drinkable, light bodied and watery, this is a good choice to compliment with a big meal. There are faint hop flavors and slight malts, but most of the flavor is derived from the breadiness similar to macros beers. This isn’t a beer to search out for, but there’s nothing to complain about. A model of mediocrity.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 cakanator (447) - South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 5, 2012
On tap, I’ve had it many times over, yet it seems to vary each time. Usually a medium copper pale color, white head, good carbonation. Aromas are decently malty, more of a pale caramel malt. Palate is pretty basic but a clean malt forwardness. Always good and on tap everywhere in the area.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 kwoeltje (1843) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - JAN 28, 2012
(draught) light gold with white head. Malt aroma with a hint of hops. Flavor is caramel malt with a grassy hops finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Scrapersnbeer (448) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Not extra pale, but copper-amber with a sweet malty nose. Heavy malt flavor with a nice bitter contrast. Medium body which is chalky and shale like. Decent stuff, but stylistically confusing.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerHawk (1635) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - JAN 1, 2012
Draft. Pale in the glass with a white head that settled quickly. Aroma of grain, floral, and a caramel backing. The flavor found floral with a malt balance. Light to medium body.
3.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 skibumma70 (30) - USA - OCT 12, 2011
Aroma is not very appealing, almost a skunky like smell. Appearance is a hay golden color. Taste light, not hoppy, pretty easy to drink, and tasty. Almost a light citrus, lemony flavor that is refreshing in the hot weather. It is smooth on the palate, almost perfect carbonation. Overall, it is a pretty good Pale Ale. Nothing new here, but an easy to drink ale that is well balanced.
3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 zdk (1625) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 12, 2011
bomber - hazy yellow pour, with thin white head. Aroma is quite grainy, wheat and a touch of bile. Plenty of malt sweetness, caramels and cracker. Light hoppy finish, some citrusy orange notes. Well balanced, with a dryer than normal finish for an APA. Tasty.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 alobar (1962) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Pours a clear straw yellow color with a white head that vanishes quickly. Flowery aroma with some skunk. Weak flavor with metallic hints-some hop bite and sweet fruit. Disappointing from this brewer.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 stangger (517) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Bottle in nh. Pale straw yellow-orange. Aroma is Skunky low quality lager yeast, banana esters, fruity. There’s a fruity, yet metallic bite that’s quite pronounced. Yeasty, semi-sweet and unpleasant. Surprisingly bad. Actually felt a bit sick while drinking this.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Skipsteroo (5) - Underhill, Vermont, USA - AUG 8, 2011 does not count
On tap at the Daily Planet in Burlington VT. I recently had this beer from a growler at a friend’s lake house and was lukewarm about it. I was hoping having it on tap that it might be better. Pours very yellow, slightly hazy with thin head that dissipated quickly. Virtually no lacing. I detect almost no aroma, but what’s there is not offensive. It’s a little hoppy for sure, but also a little bit sour. Feels light, if not fizzy, in the mouth. Someone else wrote here that it has a metallic taste on the mouth, and although that’s not exactly how I’d describe it, that comes close. It’s not an awful beer, it’s just not the best BBC beer I’ve had.
