Nightfall (312), Athens, Greece May 29, 2007 I found this at a kiosk near work. I never heard of it before so I took a can to try it.
A below average lager completely uninteresting. DruncanVeasey (1737), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Aug 12, 2006 Oh dear. The lurid yellow-green tin bearing a cartoon hop does not bode well. Neither does the name. Or the all-Greek writing. Or the gratuitous citronella candlewax aroma. But we mustn’t pre-judge these things. Actually, yes we must. Why does a beer NEED to smell like mosquito repellent and children’s crayons?? If drinking wax is your thing, this is for you. But a Berliner wouldn’t touch it with a bargepole. And yet for all that, it’s disappeared. Let’s just be kind and say it’s a semi-drinkable budget lager with a mellow tang of lemon, honey....and candles. Sigmund (1962), Hafrsfjord, Norway Oct 12, 2004 (33 cl can, bought in Greece). Golden colour, moderate head. Weak aroma, fairly malty flavour for an industrial lager, probably some maize (corn) too. Drinkable, but not interesting.
