Ungstrup (11930), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 25, 2005 A red-brown beer with a nice orange brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of toffee and bread. The flavor is sweet with notes of plastic, metal, bread, and caramel - a weird combination. Papsoe (11421), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 27, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pitch-black with a dense, slightly brownish head. Very dry, no hint of malty sugars here. Extremely bitter. Lacks some softness to be truly great. 151099 yespr (8540), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 25, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown, yet visible, with an orange glare and a dense, creamy and light tan head. Dark aroma of overripe fruit and roasted malt - towards breadish. Flavour is dry breadish at first. Light liqourice note arising out of this together with a mild fruity note. Ends breadish and mildly bitter. Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Dec 26, 2000 A wonderful Schwarzbier, very complex and full of flavour. Well worth seeking out for fans of the style. MiP (6732), Flensburg, Germany Oct 5, 2005 Bottle. Quite dark colour. Stable, light brown head. Roasted caramel flavour. Caramel aftertaste. Not too sweet, and good mouthfeel. Quite nice.
