2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
An amber beer with a dense off-white head. The aroma is of bacon and is sour. The flavor is dry with notes of lingonberries. A weird, but still OK Bock.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Yet another brew from the enterprising "Beliner Bürgerbräu". Dark golden, very limited head. Almost no nose. Typical notes of caramel-malt and some slightly roasted touches. Some sweetness well balanced by a late hoppiness. Very harmonious and delicate bock-beer. 191099

Bottled. Mahogany coloured. Softly malty, full bodied, well balanced and bitter. A true bock!

Rich, satisfyingly malty, with just a touch of dryness in the finish, like all good bocks.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aromatisch süß-würziger Antrunk. Etwas zu süß, brotig. Malzig bleibend, sehr würzig, süß, kaum Änderungen. Leicht alkoholisch, im Abgang eher wässrig. Passabled Bock.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, quite stable mid-sized off-white head; caramelly nose with a light acidity (no infection!) and traces of hops; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; slightly lingering solid bitter-sweet finish with a hoppy touch, completed by molasses and dried fruits. Nice Bock, quite well balanced.......

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle) Clear dark copper colour with a small creamy off-white foam. Sweet toasty malty aroma with caramel and shy fruity notes in the background. Mild sweet toasty flavour, medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel; medium dry toastmalty with a touch of bittering hops and a bit of chocolate in the aftertaste. Lacks complexity but is quite enjoyable and aromatic with well-integrated alcohol.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fragments of fieldberries and sweet malt amongst the yeast…Sour cherries and thin caramel…Lack of luxury for a bock…

500ml in a pottery bottle with a swing-top that was bought at Galeria Kaufhof am Alex in Berlin. Presented as a Weihnachtsbier. Shining, dark brown body with ruby highlights. Decent, off-white head fading to a patchy surface. Dark malty aroma with discreet notes of dark fruits. Toffee malts in flavour with a touch of chocolate and dark fruits far behind. Dry, noble hops to the ending to keep the malty sweetness at bay. Smooth drinking. Just alright on a lazy day back home (Tromsø, 03.01.2010).
