COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer has a creamy aroma; a relatively light body for this strong style; a faintly buttery malt character; a grassy, herbal, hop finish. Its crispness of finish is intended to add a refreshing edge to an otherwise quite powerful brew.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2007 Not sure if I bought this in Ontario or had this in Berlin on tap. If it weren’t for flashbacks I would have no memory at all but I do remember it being dry. A well made Maibock that deserves more ratings. Page 49 of MJ’s Great Beer Guide only 472 Classic Brews to go.

Clear orange. Sharp skunky aroma and flavour. I do not like maibocks in general, but this one was so bad i could hardly finish it.

Clear orange color, thick foam. Skunky sharp metal aroma, bit hops maybe. Sharp metallic flavor and iron palate. This one is just disgusting, i cannot understand those previous ratings...

Good maibock. Wish I lived in Germany so I could get this in those massive beer mugs. Creamy aroma with hoppy finish.

Clear, deep gold with a nice white head. Spritzy, effervescent, and crisp. Nice aroma. Dry finish with sharp, lasting flavors. Didn’t like the slight metallic flavor. Loved the bold mouthfeel. Overall, very enjoyable.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2004 Upon its separation from the 330ml brown bottle the beer sets in the glass a slightly bemused golden amber color, the head moderate in size and off white in color with the resultant lace a thin covering upon the glass. Nose is malt sweet, quite crisp and fresh; start is sweet with a decent malt presence, the top light to fair in feel. Finish is stinging in its acidity, the hops personable and the aftertaste desert dry, a drinkable beer.
