Served up chilled in a pilsner glass.
Bright, tawny gold with the usual flurry of carbonation raising up a nice, firm, rocky white head that daubed down the glass. Bright hops on the nose, well pronounced, spicy, peppery and dry. Very feint showing of summer grains in there, very, very clean and tight. In the mouth it is light and well charged making it bounce across the palate with ease. Good level of dull, toasted malts, quite dry only becoming a little sweet as the carbonation wanes and as it warms, but who could wait that long. Slightly sour in back, lemony, crisp and divided between malt and good biting hops. Nicely bitter and grassy, peppery on the swallow before a slightly sour, short hoppy aftertaste that remained good. I can’t complain at all about this one. It is a nice pilsner with all the right qualities. It was bloody refreshing too. One to certainly stave off the heat of the day. (50cL, BBE 04/07)
