2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml bottle. Pretty dissapointing first Berliner beer. Pours hazy pink / red. Decent size purple foamy head. Aromas of apples, cherries, raspberries, sweets. Fruity finish that is slightly over-powering. Probably won’t go for it again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pinkish with light red lacing foam head. Served with a straw, and that is what my mother always warned me for; "Never drink a beer with a straw". Aroma is raspberry and so is taste. Not too sweet, but still a desert beer. (Berlin 201406)

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
couleur et mousse rose-sombre. Nez de framboises un peu citriques. Fort gout de framboise un peu acidulé et sucré. Fin sucrée et citrique. J’appellerais pas cela une bière, mais elle est bonne.

Bottle. Cloudy pink with a medium-big white head. Aroma of raspberries. Sweet with raspberries and fruity flavors, slightly sour and acidic.
Drinkable as a soft drink rather than a beer, anyway better that its green brother.

Bottle, purchased at Kris Wines, London, UK.
My first berlinerweiss, and what a disappointment. Taste is so cloying, I couldn;t get through tghe bottle. Reminds me of rockaberry wine cooler fromt back in the day with a bit of cough syrup thrown in. Not good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle bought at Berliner Resturant in Olympian City, Tai Kok Tsui.
Cloudy hazy light purple-ish pink colour with lots of dirt-like yeast sediments; Half finger head with soapy off-pink foam which fades in 30 seconds; Very good sticky lacing and notable slight carbonation; Very sweet aroma of raspberry syrup, with raspberry, strawberry, light yoghurt, light malt, light yeast and shades of grass; Pretty tart and light sweet taste of light malt, with strong yoghurt tartness, unsweetened raspberry juice, light strawberry, light wet cardboard, yeast, strong lemon and faint grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is thin, pretty tart, and close to sour yogurt drink with almost non-sweet raspberry and strawberry juice. The sour Weisse still dominates but quite well countered by syrup in only very small amount. Light malt, yeast and lemon roung up the taste. Alright… Hoppiness is faint grass nose, strong lemon and faint grass taste. No bitterness, just strong tart lacto finish; Slightly dry after taste. Tart and quite refreshing to mouth.
Comments: This is brewer’s simulation when someone can’t stand the plain Berliner Weisse’ sourness and mixed it with fruity syrup condiments to taste. In this case the raspberry syrup was like a small tea-spoonful, so the Weisse taste is still pretty tart without much sweetness, more like a thin lassi with fruit juice. Despite the shock colour and overwhelmingly sweet aroma, it’s pretty much drinkable without being compromised too much. Okay with me.
