3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
28th July 2015
Opaque dark purple beer, good mauve head! Funky! Big sweet fruity nose. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Big candy fruits - sweet blackcurrant and blackberry, little raspberry. Light and fairly thin dry finish. A touch dry but good fun.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A murky dark lilac coloured beer with a frothy pinkish head. A strong fruity aroma, 'Ribena' blackcurrant smell dominates. Dry and fizzy mouthfeel. A tart blackcurrant flavour, with a cloying cordial and jammy like syrupyness towards the end. Served chilled over ice whilst at a barbecue in the summer, nice and refreshing, any other time I think the cloying aspect would be too much.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Looks unhealthy - blue-purple with white head. Aroma is blackcurrant syrup, taste as well, like a lemonade, very refreshing. Not even that sweet. Solid.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle - muddy and very bright purple, violet/beige head. Aroma of blackcurrant, like Ribena, and blackberries. Taste is very sweet, cough medicine, followed by blackcurrant and light sourness. Light body, highish carbonation.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle. Hazy purple colour with average, frothy, rapidly diminishing, lilac head. Nice, full-blown blackcurrant aroma, fruit and shrub flavours, no hints of artificiality in the first instance. Taste is in stark contrast, very sweet, artificial, citric acid tartness, wine gum-like blackcurrant notes, prickling carbonation, sherbet character overall. Could be really nice without that sugar overdose.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours hazy and very dark purple with a creamy purple head. Aroma has sourness of Berliner Weisse combined with sweet blackcurrant notes. Taste is very similar to aroma, sweet and sour. Sour at first, then comes sweetish and somehow artificial blackcurrant notes and dryish finish. Medium to lively CO2. Not bad. (0,33l bottle, bb 12/15)

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
* Old rating, 0,33l-crown-top bottle, best before 08.09. Die schwarze Johannisbeere gibt dem süßen Bier eine leicht herbe Note, passt sich gut in die Süße ein aber lässt das Bier trotzdem etwas untergehen. Trotzdem nicht zu schlecht. Aber der Süßstoff stört...

Bottle enjoyed at home
Pours dark purple with a light purple head. It doesn’t really look natural! Smell of black currants, candy, not much beer really. Heavy sweet, artifical flavor og black currants and hints of almonds. Not sour at all, but i can find some tendensies of acids in the back. This one is a bit hard to rate for me. Superior to the raspberry and woodroof edition, but still not something i want to drink. Still, it don’t taste that bad either...
