Bottle at restaurant, Berlin. Has a hazy straw colour and a small, off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pale malt and some clorine. Sour flavour of some apples, lime and hay. Has a slick mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A sour and fresh beer, nothing more.

Tried it with and without strawberry syrup. Pale yellow, champagne carbonation. Except for the sourness, there is nothing very interesting. I liked it more with syrup...

Flaske i gave fra søs. Kjøpt i Berlin. Drukket ren. Litt uklar, lys gylden, gulaktig. Tynn hvit skumrand. Lite karbonert. Frisk. Smaker sitrus og gress. Litt hveteaktig med en annen fruktighet og ikke minst surhet. Min aller første berlinerweisse. Blir ikke den siste

A cloudy, light yellow colour, a head is medium and white. The nose has malts, some sourness, lemon an dry grain. Taste is slightly different than aroma with a strong sourness, lemon, grain and some grass. More malts in the end. Refreshning, strong carbonation, light but not watery. This is the first Berliner Weisse for me. Weird combination of strong sourness and light malts with lemon and without wheat. Interesting and fresh.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 Traditional Berlin ’Schankbier’ and the archetype of its style, light wheat beer with lactic acid infusion; yellowish white, loose and quickly dissolving head, colour a ’dirty’ straw yellow, equally misty. Wheaty aroma with soft pale malts, flowery hops, apple, hay and lemon juice. Quite pungent and surprisingly sharp taste (clearly lactic acid, which tastes sour but has no smell), lemony on a soft wheat basis, mineral-like thanks to strong carbonation, fruity accents, sourishness stays till the finish where apart from the citric acidity, a more mellow lactic acidity also appears, further adding to a dry, refreshing and thirst-quenching end. Body fuller than expected because of the strong carbonation - in spite of this basically being a low-alcohol beer. Very interesting tasting experience, very interesting style.

Bottle. Pale hay colour. Wheaty, bland, nose. Some rubbery notes. Light body, slight tart. Bland wheaty flavours. Bit dissapointing on its own. Nice with a dash of syrup.

Sour and tart wheat beer that is not really worth drinking as it is. on the back label recommends brewery also to pouring example. raspberry syrup in. No, I have not learned to drink this sour spray yet, nor added Berliner kindl sauerkirsche. I learn it enough one day. :-)
tastes like stomach acid
provides acid reflux, but ok fresh
