pivnizub (3638), Porúří, Germany Apr 5, 2008 Bottle: Hazy, pale golden, visible carbonation, persistent white foamy layer; moderate sourish-wheaty nose, some fruitiness reminding of green apples detectable; moderate sour flavour, supported by a light sweetness, light bodied; becomes a bit fruitier towards the moderately citrousy-sourish finish. A pleasant thirst quencher, not very demanding.........
Lord_Corkscrew (501), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy Jul 20, 2008 Ahia. Gr0ve (1083), Oslo, Norway Jul 15, 2008 330 ml bottle. Hazy white and golden colour. Tall white fine-laced head. Weak acidic wheat aroma. Delicate aromas, with notes of oxidization. Gentle acidic flavours, not as much as I had expected. Light-bodied. Little flavour overall, only a light wheat flavour mixed with the lactic acidity. Quite nice, but rather boring on it own. I remember the Schultheiss as much better than this. azlondon (461), Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008Appearance: Pale yellow, golden. Not that cloudy. Very fizzy, no head.
Aroma: Pretty fruity, lemony, not wheaty at all.
Taste: Lemony, acidic, a bit like white wine. Fizzy.
Info: 330ml bottle, 21/11-2005, 57/300, 37/500 Illini08 (504), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jun 14, 2008 330 mL bottle at a restaurant in Berlin. Light yellow color with a 1-finger white head. Lightly estery aroma. Flavor was lightly sour with just enough wheat malt backbone to keep it enjoyable for me. Light on the palate and refreshing. Dedollewaitor (1825), Odense, Denmark Jun 11, 2008 My first Berliner Weisse & what an experience. 33cl bottle. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a lasting egg white head & lacings. Aroma is of wheat and is very sour of fruits - lomon, apples & citrus. Light to thin bodied. Defenetly refreshing - but not my kind of thing. Seems too unreal!
