1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Bassadam (6) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 21, 2012 does not count
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 neur0 (219) - GERMANY - MAY 18, 2012
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 mzaar (442) - Varberg, SWEDEN - APR 27, 2012
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 richc (20) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
Very pale with fine, rapidly disappearing head as is normal in this style.
Aroma of wheat and sour apples, unusual but pleasant. Carbonation shows as trails of fine bubbles.
Sour apples continues into the flavour, perhaps a yoghurt like sourness.

thx to a friend for sharing !
head: white, foamy
Colour: hazy white/yellowish
Smell: very acidic , vinegar, a tad irony, and yeasty
Taste: acidic in the start , next comes a irony taste , but that make place for a mostly yeasty undernot along with a citric and vinegar taste all the way thru , reminds me a bit of just a berliner weisse mixed with a sour ale ... i expected better for a berliner weisse actually , but then again this is my first one from this style so hopes aren’t lost :)
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DuffMan (4422) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 19, 2012
Bottle. I originally had this on tap a couple of times while in Berlin, and after having it in the bottle I went to read my impressions of it on tap, only to discover I never entered my rating! Bummer. Anyway, out of the bottle this is pale yellow with a light bubbly head leaving no lace. Aroma is sour and wheaty with nuances of old socks. A little weird. Sour entry, apples and grape skins, yoghurty tartness, very quick finish. Spritzy and refreshing. Of note, when I first ordered this in Berlin it was brought to the table looking exactly like a glass of neon green Freshie. I learned that it is very unusual to order a Kindle Weiss without flavoured syrups (the green syrup was Woodruff; bright red cherry is the other ubiquitous choice). Needless to say, the glucose syrup KILLED this beer. In its untainted form it was quite refreshing, light, and nice. I don’t know this style well, and I don’t know how true to style Kindl Weisse is, but I thought this was a nice departure from the dozens of lackluster pils that you find everywhere.

As much as I love the city I wonder wether I will ever really enjoy their beer. This Berliner Weisse has an incredible overkill of citrus which makes it almost too sour to drink. Won’t buy it again...
