Strong black lager. It’s a special dark lager produced from five types of malt with a striking full flavour and light bitterness. Its special flavour makes it unique on the Czech beer market.

From 0.5l bottle. BBD: 09.10.14 Pours nice dark brown liquid (ruby red against light), nice creamy tan head with small bubbles - fell down to minimal lacings medium quickly. Aroma: espresso, roasted tones, malty, dark chocolate. All in gentle way. Taste: light to medium sweet, light bitter, light to medium sour. roasted tones, malty, light yeasty, some hop tones and metal light flavor! Palate: Light to medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, long light bitter and light sour finish. Overall: Good dark lager, but its reputation exceeds its quality. Aroma is good for the style but nothing amazing, taste very light, not enough complex and too acid, with metal hints. Nevertheless I must praise its excellent drinkability and very good appearance (only the foam could hold longer).

Pours a clear black with a thick dense white head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, caramel, cereal and light sweet chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, bready malts, coffee and chocolate with a dry finish. Medium carbonation and a medium body make this a great easy drinking dunkel like the Germans wanted.

500ml Bottle from a Prague Mini-Market (35CZK):
Dark roasted malts & light, earthy notes with touches of caramel. Some sweetness comes through but nothing too strong, with some milk chocolate and faint coffee notes with roasted grains too.
Dark ruby to black & a thumb-sized, foamy, tan head that settles about 1cm tall with nice lacing.
Earthy malts and dark, roasted flavours that also features some grain & a combination of light chocolate & coffee. A milk chocolate taste towards the middle & touches of hops and light spice, with some caramel sweetness to compliment the malts rounding at the end.
Light medium bodied with a slightly dry taste and a faint tang on the tongue as well. Well carbonated and quite easy to drink with a nice, well-balanced finish.

Drinkable & fairly enjoyable in a average sort of way, probably because of how easy it was to drink. Not the best Czech dark beer but a nice offering with a decent alcohol content & a well-balanced taste.

Revo. I think this is what I’m drinking - whatever. Toasted malts, earth, bread, faint coffee and choco and sweetness thought out. Choco and ash and sweet bread, hints of dirty oranges. Quite dry with a soothingly soft finish.
