2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown with big and quickly diminishing head. Very faint aroma with dark malts note and caramel only. Taste is slighlty sweet and moderately bitter. High carbonation and watery body. Not bad one.

0,5l on tap @ Wirström’s Pub. Pours very dark red with a medium long lasting head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee, as is the flavor. Quite nice schwartz.

Draft - Sweet dark sugary malts and some dark fruit. Dark mahogany with a good brown head. Bready and toasted malts. Lots of grains and continues in the finish.

I think this is the beer.... "Bernard Dark" 500ml brown swing top. Foamed a bit when popped, a dark brown pour with a nice fluffy light brown cap. Nose has grain and nut and a chocolate. Taste has dry chocolate malts. A mild bitterness from dark malts at the end with a mild metallic character. Body seems a bit limp, carbonation a bit soft. Overall an ok dark lager, drinkable but not overly special.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Swing top bottle. Dark brown with golden amber highlights and a medium ecru head. Light caramel intermingles with simple grains and an odd preservative-esque tanginess. Not seeing what the fuss is about here. Grainy, sweet, bland. Holds absolutely no appeal for me.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 0.5. Bugel’niy cork when opening - powerful cotton! Color - dark brown, almost black. Foam cream, light brown, abundant, medium-grained, but settles too quickly. Aroma - fresh black bread, yeast, brew a sour aftertaste. Carbonation is very strong - the bubbles in the mouth play. Taste - black patent malt, burnt bitterness (not hop), chocolate, but not sweet, more cocoa beans. In light gochech aftertaste, no sweets. One of the best in its class.

500ml swingtop from the Coop November Discovery Beer Bag (3 of 5 - screw Kilkenny). In Canada this is bottled as Bernard Dark Lager. Little bit of tan bubbly foam on a bodacious black brew. Lots of cool toasted malt chocolate coffee aromas. Palate is light crisp and full of flavour, but very light bodied. This is sessionable (north americanese - crushable) and a killer bad boy brew. Sick, bro.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice dark beer pours with a completely black color and a decent dirty (light brown) head which sticks around. The aroma is surprisingly very gentle, slightly sweet and chocolately (+ some hops). The taste is therefore sweet and chocolatey almost completely without the usual roasted feel. The afterfinish kicks in late with its bitterness.
A very drinkable and easy going beer, with just enough taste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark black though looks kinda clear when held up to the light with a small off white head that completely dissipates after a few minutes. Aroma is clean roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and slightly nicotine like. Flavour is chocolate, coffee, fairly malty, roasted malts more dominantly and a moderate sweetness.
