Strong black lager. It’s a special dark lager produced from five types of malt with a striking full flavour and light bitterness. Its special flavour makes it unique on the Czech beer market.

Bottle. Black. Short lasting head. Thin body. Light choclate-malty aroma. Sweet malty lager. Tastes like a refreshing and easy to drink porter.

Pitch black beer. Oversized head (blame the Czech pouring style) and too warm. Malty start with leathery middle and sweet roasted finish. Pleasant but bettered by others.

Bottle from Crosspoint Tossco, Coventry. Black as the inside of a cat. Thick collapsing tan collar dissipating to nothing. Seductive oily burnt cocoa snout with molasses, SOY, yeast extract, rauch-like waxy smoked malt, roasted nuts...the list goes on. Creamy black milk palate lingering with cocoa and smoke. Somewhere between a schwarz and a stout- not a dunkel. Delicious.

Draught Bazaar Beer café, Sydney. Appetising dark brown body with reasonable clarity and big thick tan head. Nose is malty; chocolate, nuts, caramel, a bit of bread and liquorice. Creamy carbonation, full bodied and smooth on the way down. Plenty of roasted malt on the body, but certainly not overpowering; dark chocolate, roasted nuts, mollasses, a bit of sweetness balanced with a hint of bitterness towards the finish. Damn nice, highly drinkable, delicious.

(Bottle) Almost black. Small light tan head. Roastedness, even burnt aromas and liquorice in nose. Medium palate with lot of carbonation. Roastedness, slightly burnt flavours, liquorice, malts, bitterness and coffee in taste. Pretty good.

A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF.
An excellent black red brown with a thin but very stable beige head. Solid untainted dark malt aroma. Soy and brown sugar notes in the aroma with some really good dark malt. More black lager than dunkel really. Lingering roasted malt in the finish giving it a bit of stout character too. Impressive and tasty.

Bottled, pours dark brown with a large, lasting, slightly off-white head. Good lacing. Nose of caramel and coffee. Sweet flavour with caramel, mocca and liqourice. Nice bitter finish. Balanced and full bodied
