4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Jasjin (6) - Nevada, USA - NOV 3, 2004 does not count
Outstanding dark beer. Heavy molasses and malt flavor. Slight twist of burning sugar, chocolate and some bitterness on the aftertaste with licorice tones. Head was creamy, but not overly so. Was able to have the hard to find Grolsch popper top in Czech Republic. Easily one of the best dark beer in the Czech Republic. Purchased for 60 Krowns in super grocery store (about $1.50 US). Gotts love those currency exchanges!
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 rozsoma (265) - HUNGARY - NOV 19, 2009
Nice black colour with a solid brown head which is frothy and mostly diminishing without lacing. Smokey aroma with roasted malts. A few minutes later caramel notes comes forward. In the flavour there is the perfect bitterness. Unfortunately short aftertaste. One of my favourites. i will drink it more usually........................................... i celebrate with this my 50th rate. cheers!
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 LordCrabapple (106) - Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 13, 2011 This is a high quality beer. Classy, not for yobs. It tasted like burnt caramel to begin with, then went more towards smoke. A surprising find. And Her Ladyship loves it! Not the kind of beer I would drink often, but then I’m an old fool.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 6, 2008
Black with a beige head. Loved this! Aroma of dust, malt and dates. Wonderful sweet caramel taste with gooseberry sourness, espresso, ash and preserved plums. Some bitterness (just enough in fact). Excellent.

Lovely fresh beer, the lager is laced with coffee and cocoa. Eas drinking, yet complex and multilayered. Close to a perfect lager.

Dark ruby colour, rich brown head, good lacing. Somewhat sweet liquorice aroma. Smooth roasty toffee-flavour. Gets more bitter towards the finish. Nice Dunkel.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 muffel (119) - Lower Saxony, GERMANY - JUN 5, 2011
On tap at Duende in Prague. Black-ish color with thick white head. Low carbonation, very mild. Some note of roasted coffee. Malty, hardly any bitterness. Sweet aftertaste. Very easily drinkable and worth trying.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 duff (5483) - St, Margarets, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 6, 2004
Tap in Pilsen and also bottled. I found this to be more like a schwarzbier. Lightly roasted malt, full, dry soft mouthfeel, with some hop bitterness in the finish. Soft banana yeastyness noticed, more so in the bottled version. Lovely, roasty and smooth, very more-ish.
