The aroma is malty and the mouthfeel is a bit oily with notes of dark and bitter licorice and chocolate, so the bitterness is nice. I wouldn’t mind a bit more complexity, but it’s nice. pantani (1896), Salinas, California, USA

Taste is sweet with brown sugar, nice malt backbone, interesting beer, has a bit of almond and hazelnut to it. sinte (88), udine, Italy

Dark brown colour with a large, creamy, light-brown head, mostly lasting with an excellent lacing.
Heavy malt aroma (caramel and maybe nuts) and light hoppy character; notes of raisin.
The heavy sweet moderate bitter flavour and of the beginning develops towards a higher degree of bitternes; long bitter finsh with notes of licorice and peppery feeling on the tongue.
Medium body with an oily texture; soft carbonation and light metallic feeling in the finish.
Very good beer: complex and interesting, without the alcoholic character present in stronger beers of the same level of complexity. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England

Distinctly malty, with touches of chocolate and liquorice, but manages to remain clean and fresh too. Not a lot more to say really, but a quite nicely done brew.
