harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 9, 2006 Updated: Jul 7, 2008Draught at GBBF 2006. Very dark brown, almost black colour with attractive lasting beige head. Charcoal dark malts. Served cold. Goodish malts choc/powdery coffee. It takes me back to Prague in April. Dark and nice. Bit empty in the mouthfeel. 3.2/5
Re-rate 500ml bottle from Tesco. Very dark brown/ruby. A lovely dark lager, rounded, full, good roasted coffee finish. I rather enjoyed it. Easy drinking with enough depth to be tasty. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Aug 9, 2006 Draught – GBBF. A black coloured beer with a whitish head. The aroma has some slight roast as well as a sweet malty, slightly German bock character. The taste is quite lactic. There is a little chocolate and caramel and a touch of burnt malt. A reasonably long tasty finish. Decent IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Jun 26, 2006 On tap at "Waterfall Wishes" in St. Petersburg. Poured black with ruby highlites and a semi-frothy white head. Aroma of some cherries and light chocolate. Taste is dry with bitter roasty chocolate and some grassy hops. Finishes quite dry. Very not bad. Jukkabro (2981), Tampere, Finland Jun 8, 2006 Near black colored with slight red hints. Medium beige head. Strong smoke and tar in aroma, roastiness, caramel and coffee too. Medium bodied. Smoke also in flavor with convenient roastiness, mild licorice and alcohol, some tar tones in aftertaste with mild dryness. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 24, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a very pretty, clear mahogany with a warm, reddish hue and a thick, creamy, light brown head with good retention. Delicate aroma of roasted malt and an almost vinous edge. Medium body with roasted, malty accents and a touch of dried fruit. Also a hint of chocolate. Vague burned edge, without making it bitter at all. A unique and perfect balance in this beer. 240406 TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Apr 2, 2006 Bottled at ZBF and given out by Lorenzo from BBB. Dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is cocoa, light choco notes, sweet malts and light hop notes. Taste is more choco notes, soft, dusty cocoa, light anise, and light hop notes. Body is creamy and medium. Finishes with more choco notes, light dark fruitiness, soft roastiness and hops. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Mar 11, 2006 Near black beer with dark yellow head, quite stable. Chocolate, dark malts, and again some chaff. Soft-sweet taste, with notes of licorice, wood-bitter and dry. Well-bodied, especially as it is only a 5.1 ABV beer. Definitely more going on than some dark malts. This is much better than pleasing - I could live with this. Some of those Czech dark beers are superbly made, and underestimated here. tenghave (402), Taastrup, Denmark Mar 8, 2006 Updated: Nov 9, 2006Fadřl fĺet pĺ Restaurant Golden Prag. + i Prag
Sor řl med flot brunt skum. Virker meget som en stout, let brćndt i smagen.
Har en bitter eftersmag og for lidt kulsyre.
Dejlig men kedelig řl.
