Aroma of roasty-burned malt, and varying amounts of sulphur. Roasted-malty, lightly licoricey flavor with sulphur and a dry-ashy finish. Medium-bodied, quite foamy-carbonated palate. Not nearly as good as the draught version I’ve had previously. Full-bodied for a Czech lager, and quite balanced - but there’s no complexity, and the sulphur (amount varies by bottle) is quite distracting.
(Draught@Hostina, Helsinki, was 7-4-7-4-15=3.7) Very dark brown color with a thick, creamy, tanned head. Slightly roasty, malty aroma with licorice hints. Malty, roasty-licoricey, salty flavor with some ashiness. Medium to full-bodied, foamy-carbonated but smooth palate. A very nice and enjoyable, full and balanced dunkel. Re-rate 500ml bottle from Tesco. Very dark brown/ruby. A lovely dark lager, rounded, full, good roasted coffee finish. I rather enjoyed it. Easy drinking with enough depth to be tasty. maeib (4711), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
