Oct 18, 2008 Bottle. Bought from TESCO’s where it is labelled dark. Virtually black it poured with a small head. Malty and slightly sweet. The maltiness continues well after you finish drinking. Swing top bottle and well balanced. A quite classy and pleasant dunkel.

Oct 11, 2008 500ml Bottle - Black in colour with a small tan head. Malty aroma with some roasted and fruity notes with raisins standing out along with a hint of sweetness. Sweetish malty taste with a slightly sour hint. Raisins, chocolate and roasted malt can be detected. Very drinkable.

Oct 8, 2008 Bottle. An almost black colored beer, with a nice thick beige head. The aroma of dark malts, dark fruits and some hop. The taste of caramel with tones of chocolate. Fruits like prunes and raisins. Dry and a little bitter. The aftertaste is mild bitter with a lttle sweetness.

Sep 17, 2008 Bottle from Crosspoint Tossco, Coventry. Black as the inside of a cat. Thick collapsing tan collar dissipating to nothing. Seductive oily burnt cocoa snout with molasses, SOY, yeast extract, rauch-like waxy smoked malt, roasted nuts...the list goes on. Creamy black milk palate lingering with cocoa and smoke. Somewhere between a schwarz and a stout- not a dunkel. Delicious.

Aug 30, 2008 Draught Bazaar Beer café, Sydney. Appetising dark brown body with reasonable clarity and big thick tan head. Nose is malty; chocolate, nuts, caramel, a bit of bread and liquorice. Creamy carbonation, full bodied and smooth on the way down. Plenty of roasted malt on the body, but certainly not overpowering; dark chocolate, roasted nuts, mollasses, a bit of sweetness balanced with a hint of bitterness towards the finish. Damn nice, highly drinkable, delicious.
