Bottle from Tesco. I’m a sucker for a buy one get one free. I wasn’t impressed, seeing the high rating has encouraged me to have another go. I’ll reserve judgement till then as I hated it and found it to be metallic.

Bottle from hugemongous Tesco Milton Keynes, 22-06-08 Pours dark brown with a tan head that is also rather creamy. This is damn tasty I wish I’d have picked up a few more. Liqorice, nice roasty flavours, even some decent dark chocolate very nice beer.

Dark brown to black, foamy beige head. Burned malty nose, little plastic & vegetables, ash and butter. Sweetish. Roasted and sweet malty flavor. Herbal hops, little plastic and dried, vinous fruits. Medium bodied, quite smooth palate. It’s got off-flavors, but nothing terrible. Quite interesting.

Sampled at GBF 2008. Dark copper with a beige head. Chocolate, fudge, some burnt sugar, and earthy and herbal hops in the aroma. Slightly sweet initially, but with a dry finish and moderate bitterness.

a dark pour, almost black, with ruby highlights. a large creamy tan head. very sweet caramel and milk chocolate aroma. flavor is roasty and lightly smoky. some beef jerky and chocolate. creamy texture with low carbonation. still has a slight metallic tinge, as do all the beers i’ve tried from bernard, but this one tastes pretty good.
