3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
draught in Praha. My first Czech beer, and a good introduction. brown in colour, taking the best elements from the dark and the light. All the better for being unpasteurised, it is reminiscent of a mild, not too sweet, with hints of roast and coffee, and a dry finish

large and fluffy head, attractive colour. Quite bitter for a polotmavé but very nice. Flavours of roasted malt appear. Quite malty finish and aftertaste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Swing-top bottle: Clear amber coloured, bigger fluffy tanned head, sticking to the glass; distrinctive herbal-hoppy nose, covering sweet malt; mild bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, gentle MF; moderate sweet-malty finish. A rather hop-accented "Rezak", pleasant, but not very impressive..........

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap in Cesky Krumlov. A pleasant dunkel, but just a little heavy with not enough flavour to compensate. In fact, preferred the half and half (dark/light) I had just before this one.

Dark brown colored, little beige head. Butter, sweetness, mild coffee in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is mildly roasted with hops, aftertaste is mildly buttery with hoppy roastiness.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
500ml bottle. Deep chestnut with lasting beige head. I like this, good roast toast malts, some toffee, but not too dominant. Hops on end provide a drying finish. Bit of coffee. Nice.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(on tap)Pitch black, poured with a gigantic head, witch hung on throughout the drink. Aroma was molasses-weet, but vague. The taste is dominated by a very strong liqourice and a tad of smoke. Creamy mouth ad low carbonation, makes it highly drinkable i the fall and other semi-cold occasions.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at The Rover, Göteborg.
Dark copper colour. Dusty, caramelly nose. Slight toast malt tone in flavour, also residual sugars, that gives a Belgo touch. Pretty light bodied still. Rich in taste.
Earlier Rating: 9/23/2003 Total Score: 3.3
Draught at Soldaten Svejk, Stockholm.
Chestnut brown with a huge off-white head. Fine malty bread aroma. Medium sweet toffeeeish flavour.
