Frothy head, big bubbles, lasts a long time. Flowery and herby and haylike in the aroma. Moderate to high bitterness, just a little sugary sweetness and a tiny touch of diacetyl butter, with a somewhat oily body. Quite good.

Bottle, labeled as Bernard Lager. Clear golden with hint of orange, medium white head. Aroma of fruit and malt, sweet taste of malt and straw. Nothing special about it, but nothing wrong with it either. one of the better beers to be found at Rema in Norway

Bernard Lager bought in Norway. Hoppy spicy aroma when poured but the aroma quickly vanishes. Not a very lasting head, surprisingly for a czech pilsener, but the appearance is nicely golden. The taste is correct for a czech pilsner but one dimensional. I am missing some of the caramel sweetness from long boils that one can find in this type of beer. Average, just above, but far from fantastic. Wish I could have tried the stronger version, I bet it would be a little bit more special.

0.5l bottle. Pours a clear pale golden body with lots of microscopic white floaters and a quickly fading white top. Actually so quickly fading that I would say no head. Aroma is mildly fruity with notes of peach, grains and dry hops. Light bodied, texture is oily and carbonation is medium+. In the taste I get more sweet peachy flavors making this kinda sweet and fruity. It’s not until the end that a wave of grassy bitterness comes flushing over the sweet peachy initializing flavor, and the bitterness lasts for quite a while. Absolutely acceptable this little Czech.

Bernard Lager. Bottle (50cl). Fingerthick offwhite head, quickly diminishing. Clear, golden yellow colour. Aroma of sweet hay, corn. Nicely balanced taste - a bit on the sweet side. Medium carbonation, refreshing mouthfeel, light without being overly watery. Mildly bitter finish. OK lager.
